Well, I did it ! I was looking for a Bongo as a newbie to camper vanning; but bought a V6 2006 MZ G.

I took delivery earlier this week and brought her home to South Devon.

My main vehicle is a Jaguar XJR, and, I am delighted to say, that the Alphard compares very favourably with that (excluding the V8 supercharged performance).

Smooth, quiet, refined; wonderful.

Having already preselected a specialist Convertor, I am preoccupied with specifying the built.

I love those front camera views, although not the overall (lack of) functionality of the Japanese head unit. Virtually nothing works in the UK.

So that is a mini project too.

So far, SO GOOD, and thanks to this Forum for providing extremely useful information which was invaluable while making my buying decision.

Keep a look out for us, we will be waving to all Alphard owners we encounter on out travels.

Well I hope you like your local petrol stations as that’s two pretty thirsty cars you own there!

Which converter are you using? I’m in mid-Devon.

Hi, so sorry for my late answer. too busy visiting the convertor to read my emails! I was not ignoring you.

Firstly, 'my' convertor is extremely busy, and I hope you and any others reading this don't jump ahead of me in his queue.

Dave, owns Matrix Carpentry, in Dawlish.

He is on Facebook I believe. Also on the Internet.

I have the same model version as you ;), but how do I get the front cameras to work; what do I look for to activate them as they don't turn on when in 'D' mode?

Are you sure you have cameras ? I expect you do.

The lenses are just under the Alphard emblem on the front.

It helps if you clean the camera lenses VERY gently.

I'm stumped for a moment !

I leave mine on all the time; but they only work between zero and (say) 5 mph.

On the screen, there is an area in the lower right hand corner of the touch screen to toggle between the 2 camera (left and right) view and the three camera view (front bumper too).

I need to go out to my Van.

I believe there is also a steering wheel control button. (rhs).

Yes. I just started the engine, engage D, press the steering wheel button and the views should come on.

As I say, I leave mine on so had forgotten how to use it.

It is fantastic for 'Peep and Creep' at blind junctions.

Good Luck

yes, I have that V shaped lens underneath the emblem; what button marking do you have on the steering wheel to ID it, as mine are a tad faded to make out?

I think it is the middle 'rocker' switch RHS.

It is difficult to describe.

Two triangles, almost like misaligned headlights !

I'll check again tomorrow. Bit late now, the Dog goes bananas !

someone needs to archive that site, as the owner stopped supporting it a few years back.

it's on Google's servers (Blogger), so it's safe, but agree, it's an excellent resource!
