Hello!

My first post! I've recently became a proud owner of a 2009 Vellfire 2.4. Lovely vehicle that I've wanted for a while, but.... When driving over rougher road, the front end feels and sounds rattly but there is not much vibration; the vibrations are sometimes felt slightly on the accelerator pedal. The rattling together with vibrations to the whole car show up as well when driving over 70mph (even on smooth motorway).

When my garage did an inspection on it after purchase, they said that rear trailing arm bushes are perishing, offside front anti roll bar link dust cover has slight perishing, and most importantly nearside front lower ball joint has slight play.

Could it be as simple as that? Or should I suspect something more? Obviously I'll get the ball joints changed but just wanted to get your opinion.

Thanks!

Hello Piotr,

Welcome to the Forum.

Did you buy privately ?

If from a business, I would take it back under warranty.

Possibly uneven tyre wear, or a significant curbing affecting the wheel or suspension geometry.

You may consider a front wheel balancing as an inexpensive start.

Thanks for a quick reply Roger!

It was bought at a dealer - JDM Autos in Southampton. I should've mentioned that the front tyres are two different kinds. I was considering taking it back but thought that this would come up as wear and tear to the suspension, worth a try I guess!

Also get the front suspension arm rear bushes checked as roger say this will cause un even tyre wear and tracking issues

When i researched buying one : i came across a fairly common issue with the steering column itself can develop a rattle, will try to find the source, maybe
