Hi all,

 

Many apologies if this is not the correct place to post this. Guidance gratefully received.

 

I recently had a new radiator fitted by a garage on the Alphard, however, they forgot to transfer the oring from the old radiator where it connects to the water inlet. 

Slowly, but surely, water leaks over time now and I have to refill a fair bit to make sure we have enough in there.

 

By the time I had realised what had happened, the garage had ditched the old radiator and don;t know what oring I should use. (I know, I know, not using them again, pretty bad really).

 

I did buy an oring set from Screwfix, popped what looked to be the corrcet size on there and clipped it back together, but the leak still occurs.

 

I attach pictures of where the oring should be, but can anyone help me discern the exact type I need? 

 

I would be most grateful for any help given on this.

You could try searching for the part number on Amayama ot Toyota/Alphard/epc

That’s very strange the radiator from most sellers come with this part fitted and does not need any old bits off your old radiator if you want pm me your reg no. Richard I will find the part no. For you

Hi Picasso, Thanks for responding. Yes, I totally agree. Unfortunately, I didn't know until the radiator was on the van that the thing was missing a few days later as it originally solved the issue we were having. Garage must have just thought that the connection being loose was fine. Not sure why. Maybe they thought once it got hot it would tightne up or something. But without the oring, it is a little loose. and moves back and forth. The seller has had a batch where the orings are missing and didn't know himself until sent to customers and they fitted it. He doesn't know the correct oring needed either, but doesn't know his parts enough unfortunately. He's just trying to sell stuff to make a quick buck. he has admitted that it should have been on there and tried to help by sending me photos of how to unclip the hose, which did help at least a little.

 

Just thought it'd be quicker to get an oring and forget the whole affair really! I don't think anyone meant any malice, just a series of faults all along the line.
