If I connect my phone to Bluetooth, where does the microphone input come from? Is it the little grilles on the ceiling by the interior lights, or somewhere else?

 

Wherever they are, is it possible to clean them up? My callers are reporting that they just can't hear me at all.

I dont think it is the microphones to be honest, it would probably be a setting on the head unit or connection 

You may need to use google translate to hover over the japanese writing for it to translate it.

Forgive my possible ignorance on this but, surely, the microphone is in your phone.

The phone sends the signal via Bluetooth technology to the head unit.

 

Or are you referring to the sound output from your caller ? 

That should be coming via your speakers.

Should use microphone in the car roger. otherwise if you phone is in your pocket then it will sound muffled

Thanks both - exactly Steve - I'll take a look in the manual but haven't found it yet. I had turned up the microphone in the bluetooth/phone settings but no joy.

It's on the right side of the map light area behind a little slotted grill.

 

It works quite well for me, maybe you need to increase the mic volume on headunit
