I never got an install manual, probably because i said i had already fitted one in the past.

I haven't actually confirmed if their loom does the parking brake signal mod, because i still have the bypass i fitted previously.

The kit should come with a microphone, too, so you can interact with Google Voice, although i have not actually tested this because i usually set my destination on my phone before getting into the car and it just auto connects and I'm away.

There is a mod somewhere on this forum that i was part of, that you can do to reuse the Toyota microphone (which is the little grill to the right of the controls for the doors above the rear view mirror.)

Again, this might already be in the new loom.

I should really get around to buzzing through the new loom and seeing what they have connected everything to.

When you remove the fascia of the headunit, you will see plenty of space to the left of the gear selector, that's where i have placed my android box.

Your can buy a plug and play 2 port usb panel that fits in the blank switch spaces.

I originally had it fitted next to the cigarette lighter socket, it connects inline with the existing cigarette 12v supply (i later moved mine to the space to the left of steering wheel)

Check on Amazon or AliExpress, if you include Toyota in search term, you will get one that is plug and play, you can get them in usb a, usb c or combo of usb a and c

They send me some manual which I don’t understand, so they telling me you need to dismantle the headunit and you need a professional installer to do it.

I might just install the usb port then I can use the navigation via phone.

Have a look what the sent me:

Actually, I studied a bit this manual and it is not that complicated after all. Will get this ordered.

This document makes it quite simple.

I have placed the order and it’s already shipped.

Thank you for the recommendation and for useful guidance.

I managed, and didn't even have this small document to assist.

Did you remove the back unit or just the front to access the touch wire? I can’t seem to remove the back unit, unscrew all the screws but still doesn't budge.

Okay, I did not know you can drop down the screen. Will try to drop it and then open it, thanks.

So I managed to install everything the touch works and I can see the the carplay on the bluetooth but it doesn’t appear on the headunit screen not sure why

Press the aux button.

You should see a smaller image in top right. Press that to go full screen, then use the small touch button that came with the carplay box to switch touchscreen to the carplay

I can't find the Aux button on my screen, but the carplay appeared on the VTR. The problem is that when I switch to the carplay the touchpad does not work.

Maybe I did not connect the touchpad I need to dismantle again and check the carplay touchpad connection because I cant think of what else could be wrong. The OEM touchpad goes through the same line, and it works fine; just the carplay touchpad does not work.

Need to check this wire to make sure it is properly connected:

Everything looks connected properly, have a look maybe you see any error

You mean I should flip the original touch ribbon wire upside down?

But the OEM touch works just fine, only the carplay touch is not responding.

I spoke with the supplier, they told me the carplay touch needs calibrating.

I had to calibrate my older system, i had to make an empty file and stick on usb key and reboot.

I can't remember if the file was called screen or screen calibrate.

The seller should be able to confirm
