Head gasket

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,I wonder what you think my best option is, my head gasket went a couple of days ago and I don't fancy a cheap liquid seal option. Which leaves having a new gasket and hope everything else is ok or have a reconditioned engine fitted. Money's very tight at moment so I'm after value for money. Based in Leeds.

The 2.4 does have issues with the bolts at the rear of the head working loose so if you are lucky that could be the problem. A replacement engine would be expensive, upwards of £1500. If your engine did not seize up then it would be far easier and thus cheaper to have a new gasket and the head skimmed especially if your mileage is fairly low for the year, and you know the service history
