Hi. I have a 2005 Alphard 3ltr with camper conversion and pop-up roof. I would like to find a bike rack for the rear hatch. Halfords have non listed. Does anyone out there have any pointers?

Cheers

Hi RAC,

We have a 2007 Alphard and, after much searching and a few drawings to try to work out tailgate angles, settled on a Strada Evo - some of the Strada models have a roller system so the rack slides away, moving both backwards and down to give clearance for the tailgate. Works well - however, these are designed for rear towbar (thought trying to hang bikes on the tailgate would just be too much!), so the whole kit can be quite expensive.... If you're looking for a towbar you could try the TY3565 from PCT Automotive.

Good Luck...

Hi pcous. Many thanks for replying and for the information. I think I will leave the bike at home and walk instead!!!!!!!!

For what its worth, when we were 'speccing' our 2005 3.0, the Converter did say, because of the dims etc, they have to fabricate one by cutting up existing bits of other racks, as there ISN'T one out there to fit 'out the box'. Can be done but got impression, at conversion stage not after.

They also suggested better to fit a tow bar which we didn't want, so we've bought 'fold up 'bikes.....
