  1. Would you happen to know the part number Alex? In case Tim needs them?
  2. Yes, once you have done them once they are easy. Just little bit pricey
  3. Sorry i realised it was for cruise control This will be a setting on the ECU. A JDM experct could do this for you using a decent ODB reader
  4. this video may help.. it is for a Toyota as well.. but not alphard but i would imagine them doing the same way (possibly) Please check first
  5. also get some fine bottle washer brushes
  6. Fiamma is the best i found. great product Porch sides can be pricey but very handy too
  7. could be loose or a runner needs adjusting. Not unless it has been damaged, but if the door aligns up when it closed then its probably just needs adjusting. Also make sure its actually in the runners
  8. Ben Hau is the chap Looks him up on Facebook.. lives in Birmingham
  9. i used to get this dull contantcreaking sound, its where the servo was trying to push the vent open but either trapped or servo was weak. Also i think it went away when i turned off the air circulation or put the car in cold.
  10. another one could be similar to what Alex said and could be the Thermostat not opening
  11. Air vent servo went on my old ANH10, you could hear it making noises behind the dash.. small motor that opens and closes hot and cold vents.. heard this happen a few times. i think access was from passenger side ( from what i remember) then behind the dash. You can see it with a torch Been a long time ago, so a bit vague on the memory
  12. @Chris Mc I would get the brakes stripped down and cleaned, make sure the calipers are not seized causing overheating on the disks Then change disks and pads. But the caliper service is important. Another way is if you have one of those in the ear thermometer for kids, i set mine for body temp, then scan the brakes to see which one is heating up the most. If not, then I do the spit test. Gross yes, but works as you can see which one sizzles the most lol Or touch the wheel hub for any heat differences. if both radiate lots of heat then a service on them is needed. Also sounds like calipers have not been retracting from those meaty pads and the overheating on motorways. I recently changed all 4 pad sets and drove around europe.. the wheels on all 4 sides were really black when we go back, never been black like that on our previous runs, so it shows how much bedding in they need.
  13. When i was doing it with my old minibus I told insurance and they put on the policy that it was a forever evolving campervan project which was not complete, When complete and that i register it with DVLA then I would need to inform them that it is then a proper Campervan, until then it was a project. This was with Adrian Flux
  14. @lime Did you manage to figure it out? please let us know
  15. We usually have a big meet, but unable to do one this year. I will look at setting up another big meet.. we around 70 Alphards turn up. quite a sight to see. Small meets are welcomed as well
  16. looks quite good. Had a similar idea for my Land Cruiser, the infotainment is dated so a screwn like this with all the bits i need would be ideal.
  17. good find.. Blitz do quite a few bits for Toyota
  18. can recommend these guys too. have had custom work done there before and work is spot on.
  19. might be the small servo that opens and closes the vents is jammed or not working. Any clicks or small noises from behind dash when changing temp? I had this on a 10 series and was accessible under the right of the glove box, maybe similar place for the 20 series
  20. Hi Michael Welcome to the club. One thing comes to mind with ottoman seats (ones with built in armrests) was the extreme difficulty it was putting my kids seats in using the isofix. i thought i had screwed up when i first tried and thought i was going to have to sell the car on, but eventually got them in. I also found them bulky seats and not the most ideal compred to the non-armrest version. Also, the 4wd system adds something roughly like 100kg to the weight of the vehicle. I never found the 2wd a problem, although the 3ltr is a powerful motor if you have poor tyres then they can lose traction when applying the power. Some dealers won't touch 4wd vehicles, so may want to do some homework to why that is.
  21. on the gov website does it state kms? thats what you need to worry about. Paperwork such as latest carvx report that you obtained and paperwork backing it all up. Some dealers forge paperwork. So getting a new report is the only clear information that you need. So selling is not a problem is backed up. My old car I sent him the pdf from carvx to back up everything.
  22. Toyota oem fluid all the way. guaranteed the right oil.
  23. some cars do have adjusters but not sure on the alphard. also i am not sure they ever did a LHD version of the car, which means almost impossible to find used headlight units to suit.
