  1. Good idea! We'll make it, if the timing fits with our plans. We like the idea of the meet and the convoy (and a campsite takeover), but have doubts about trying to shine our battered old beast.
  2. Hi Alphard people, does anyone use a cycle rack, not tow-bar mounted, on an Alphard AH10 (2002-2007)? I would love to hear about what fits, and what works well.
  3. Saw the posts about blinds and decided to replace my home-made Thermowrap set. Cost £160 from Covprotect, and are excellent!
  4. Ah, sorry, it’s the 2.4.
  5. Sorry, thought I'd posted to this topic. Hope this isn’t too late. I called out my breakdown service recently because the isolator light was staying on when I turned the ignition on. He found that a relay had gone short and blown the fuel pump fuse. The photo shows the fuse box under the bonnet on the passenger side. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm using E10, no problems so far
  7. Been running my 2005 2.4 on 95 RON with no problems. It has the 2AZ-FE engine as used in the Avensis and Rav4, shown on the Gov.uk website as OK with E10 petrol (not the 2AZ-FSE which isn’t compatible with E10). I'm in agreement with wjvf, fill up and trust the robustness of Toyota engines.
  8. My van was sluggish turning over on starting, then wouldn’t turn over at all. I called Green Flag and the engineer diagnosed a faulty starter motor. I looked on ebay and found a new starter motor for £80 from schmitz_re. Ordered it at noon and it was delivered at 11am the next day. I can really recommend schmitz.
  9. Sorry, just seen your post. I assume (but don’t know) that the wire is what what moves the door.
  10. Hi Das882, I hate the beeping so have been inspired by your post to have a look. By ‘plastic cover’ do you mean the interior door trim panel? It seems rock solid.
  11. Derek, if you’re still looking for a cable, the dealer I bought my Alphard from sells them, but I don’t know the price. Steve at Jap Autos in Southampton 02380 224764 https://www.japautosbongos.co.uk/.
  12. Jap Autos in Southampton keeps the wires in stock as failure is a common problem. (The only thing they sell apart from Alphards are door cables.) Don’t know if they post them out, but might be worth trying. 02380 224764 japautos@yahoo.com
  13. Thanks wjvh, I’ll have a look for it and at it.
