Replacement Alphard
My lad went to school with Dave's lad...decent outfit, you should be good. I drive past them every day and think I saw yours the other week, or very similar- I was admiring from afar! I see they do more Alphie's these days. They used to be only Elgrands- I nearly bought one from them, but glad I settled on Toyota in the end. Far superior motor vehicle in my mind....

Adverts?
The forum has been showing loads of Adverts at the top and bottom of the screen recently, but I believbe it may be a Google issue rather than a forum issue. I installed a free Ad- Blocker, and now they don't show up anymore.

Rear seats not sliding
I think that there needs to be 2 clicks to properly lock the seat into place before trying to slide..... I would put the seat down flat, and drop all your weight across the entire flat seat to make sure it's fully engaged before tying to slide. Make sure that the seat is lined up correctly to the arrow on the side of the vehicle too.

Dimming the Binacle lights
I'm on a 10 series I think (second half 2005)...looks nothing like the image above. I'll have a go at twiddling my knob (ooer missus) and see if it does the trick. Thanks guys!

Help me decide, Vellfire or Elgrand e52
Also, try asking the same question on the Elgrand forum...they aren't fans of the E52 as it's more of a small mpv style

(OE) ALPHARD 2000-2008 3.0ltr, Front Suspension struts are virtually non exsistant
Catweazle replied to ThuMentaliss's topic in Questions on Buying a Toyota Alphard or Vellfire in the UK.Let's not be too strict on endorsements though unless blatantly advertising....it may put people off recommending good experiences for the sake of being politically correct. I'm also a member of the Nissan elgrand forum and they seem to do a good job of getting the balance correct.

Steering wheel repair/replacement advice
I like the idea of a camper conversion too, but I want to keep as much seating as possible and the ability to cart Electric bikes in when needed. We must have the same grade cars but from the different Jap traders (MZ G vs MZ V) I wonder if it's just leather vs Cloth? I went Stuart Spencer mostly because they offer 2 year warranty and underseal which I've never seen on second hand cars before....

Steering wheel repair/replacement advice
Forgot... The seats and footrests are factory upholstery. This is the 3.0l MZ V late 2005. No rotating seats available.

Steering wheel repair/replacement advice
Thanks Rojie, Very pleased with the car quality and I spend a fair bit of time looking after it. The net is good for smaller/lighter loads.. I put all the 6 cushions up there max, but useful to dump your valuables when sleeping in the back. We've done 5 nights in the back over 2 journeys and found it to be more comfortable than camp beds. These pictures were taken after 3.5-4 hrs of cleaning and polishing inside and out. They are gritting/salting the road again (4th time today) and I'm having kittens even though Krown rustproofed. I've done 6000 miles in 6 months and it's not missed a beat apart from speed sensor replacement (10 mins work) Supplied by Stuart Spencer Autos in Dudley who have been fantastic.

Sometimes you can get a cover that looks decent though. I was quite pleased with this, and it feels good too being thicker...

Auto unlock
If you pop it into "P", it'll unlock the doors.

Head unit advice
Don't think you can alter the volume of the Japanese lady warning you, and you can only remove her by removing the rear camera wiring.

Windscreen wipers
I just measured the length of my existing ones, and found a matching set from halfrauds that were spot on.

Any faults?
Not that I'm aware of, which is why I chose Toyota over Nissan after 5 years of looking and researching. Unless anyone knows of any?

Pulling left: Rear wheel alignment problem.....
I've just noticed this on my car too.... Not bothered to do anything just yet, as it's not dramatic, but does get tiresome over a longer drive.

Do all Alphards rev themselves when first started ?
Isn't it just like an automatic choke? On old cars, you'd pull out the choke to let the revs run higher whilst the car settles down a bit, pop it in, and off you go. Mine starts at 1600, and drops in about 20 secs to 800
