  1. With a split relay charging installation the alternator will produce charging amp's to your leisure battery far more efficiently than a solar panel, you would not gain much by installing a solar panel but if you intend to do a lot of wild camping, i.e. no mains hook up and running devices off 12volt then the solar panel could be a must
  2. Course of action here would be to fit a new rubber or windscreen out and previous adhesive completely cleaned out screen then reinstalled with new adhesive
  3. One issue you need to know, since January this year a pop-top conversion is no longer classified by the DVLA as a camper van (this is an ongoing issue) Im converting my 3.0 ltr right now, for example one issue already is the wheel size is not so easy to alter as would be with a VW. Purchase your vehicle from a dealer who has been dealing with these vehicles for several years, don't expect to find knowledgeable people when considering customising..... you should be able to pick up a clean alphard 2006 onwards for under £9000
  4. LIKE TO, Still searching for suitable brackets and which model awning to use..but there lies the problem neither Fiamma or Thule list these products for the Alphard 2005 -2008 however I won't be beaten, and I will resolve this issue🤕
  5. There is no official fitting facility on an Alphard 2005-2008 for the fitment of alloy awning rails, the 3.0 mtr ones you refer to started life as an aftermarket fitment for the VW Transporter however enthusiast's😀 who possess good DIY hand skills should be able to fit these rails utilising mastic adhesive and stainless steel set screws..... I'm about to do this to my Alphard 2005, but I am also considering the alternative of fitting a Fiamma F40 wind out awning which also has a Kador grove within the case to accommodate a Drive away Awning but you would still have to mount the awning to the roof just as you would for the awning rail
  6. Yes of course it would, I'm doing this right now, 19" wheels with the correct sizing load rated tyres, decent adjustable suspension, rear camper conversion two weeks time and so on.....
  7. why does one need a drive away, 4 person self inflatable tent. Easier to put up, no realigning of the vehicle to the tent side entrance
  8. I have fitted these on different conversions, Mazda Bongo, VW Transporter, Vivaro, transit. I will be Installing an 'L shape' side conversion in my Alphard and one of these for the drive away
  9. Not sure what this device is for, but it resembles the card reader devices that are sometimes seen in the back of TV's or computers I have a feeling it might be something to do with a vehicle's transmitter that give your vehicle a non-stopping clear access on motorway tariffs, I exposed the unit today only to find lots of unidentified cables coming from the unit and to a inside plastic aerial cant see where the cable's disappear too......anyone had this problem with their Alphard ?
  10. is there a way to bring remove the fogged up plastic headlamp covers?
