  1. Hi all! A colleague of mine has a very similar vehicle to the Toyota Alphard (do I dare mention the name here?) and I have to say I am very much onboard with the day van idea! The Toyota Alphard looks way cooler and I prefer the interior too. I have a 3 year old daughter, so whilst I don't exactly need the space, I love the idea of using an Alphard for day trips, particularly to the beach. Whenever I go to the beach with my daughter, especially in the colder months, I'm always left wondering how much nicer it would be to have the space to change inside a dry and warm vehicle, and then to pick up some lovely fish and chips to eat in the back without feeling claustrophobic! I currently have a Mondeo Ghia X with a 2.5L V6 so the running costs of an Alphard do not put me off. My only concern would be parts availability should anything need fixing. This is because I'm the only driver in my household and I can only afford to run one car. Therefore, if something were to need replacing and if I'd have to wait for parts, I would be without a vehicle. Does anybody else here use an Alphard as a daily runner? Or is that an absurd idea? Let me know what your thoughts and experiences are! It'll be nice to meet you all. P.s. I'm from South Wales.
