Thank you so much again for the info. Russ

Many thanks for that. Will look in to it. My rail is only about 2100mm though. Would it work with the overhang each side? Regards Russ

Alphard "thermal" window blinds...
Russty replied to Russty's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
A quick update re thermal blinds; Went with a five piece front set from Fuel Lagoon. £69.99 including delivery. Good quality product, fully reversible and pretty much a perfect fit all round with no gaps. Can definitely recommend these. -
There are full sets of these type of blinds available on Amazon/Ebay etc for around £136. ( silver one side, black on the other& fitted with suction cups) Does anyone have experience of using these type of blinds? Are they a decent fit with no gaps, are they reversible, & do they actually make any difference re condensation? Many thanks Russ

Rock n Roll bed easily big enough for 2 adults. (and 2 small dogs!!!) bit of extra room on the other side to kitchen due to the curved trim card. Pop top ideal for one ... I just used a 6ft x 2ft mattress topper as a mattress... very comfortable once you're up there. Try it all out at home before you do a trip. Find out what works for you.... and doesn't!!! TOP TIP!!.... fill the kettle & get tea/coffee ready before you go to bed.... saves a lot of faff in the morning!!!😁 -
Vellfire thermal window blinds
Russty replied to Oddcouple's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
I have a full set of curtains but Im also looking into thermal window blinds (2006 Alphard) Full set on Ebay/Amazon etc for around£136. Has anyone used these type of blinds? Are they a decent fit with no gaps etc? Are they reversible? Do they lessen the amount of condensation? Many thanks Russ -
Many thanks for the advice. I've still not decided as yet. been looking at quite a few DIY awnings on Youtube etc .... a lot of good ideas out there including a roll out awning which takes half the time of even the basic sun canopy awnings to put up!! May go down that route as would be something entirely bespoke to the van.

Can highly recommend Andy's Imports. Specialises in Alphard camper conversions. High quality vehicles & workmanship. Andy himself is extremely knowledgeable on anything to do with Alphards and made the whole buying process so easy. Definitely no hard sell, and takes the time to answer any questions you may have.... in fact good old fashioned service..... something rare these days

Just to echo the comments re Andy's Imports. I also bought mine from Andy in July. I initially only went to have a look round but was so impressed with the quality of the vehicles, and with Andy's help and extensive knowledge that I decided there and then to buy. I also went for the side kitchen as I think the flatter but less wide rock &roll bed is definately better than the wider bench seat/chair configuration which is not completely flat, (and also allows space for a portaloo.....a must!!!!! Wasn't too bothered about a pop top either but a game changer being able to stand up in the van so went for that too. -

Russty replied to kinging's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Hi All Anyone fitted a Vanolarm system to an Alphard? Uses door handle motion sensor alarms & has a tracker. Ive seen them on some motorhome youtube channels & company web site informative. Grateful if anyone has any experience of using this system. Regards Russ -

Russty replied to Voodoo101's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
I was looking at a "Vanolarm" system with door sensor alarms & GPS tracker. I have seen these on some motorhome youtube channels etc & the company web site is very informative, but has anyone fitted one in an Alphard & if so,was it satisfactory Thanks in advance Russ -
Hi . Can anyone kindly recommend an awning that would be suitable for a c section rail that is approx 2.1m?.....cant seem to find anything less than 2.4m wide. Many thanks Russ

Insurance Companies for Your Toyota Alphard
Russty replied to Alphard Club's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Certainly wasnt straightforward finding insurance , but of the 4 quotes I did actually manage to get, ( 27/7/2022), best price was with Adrian Flux, £260 for myself & partner, full comp S,D&P. (Alphard 3.0 camper) None of the comparison sites even recognised the vehicle & even some insurers on the list on these pages who insure JDM vehicles, wont offer cover on camper vans anyway. -
Just purchased my 2006 3.0 camper conversion. A truly amazing vehicle, totally exceeded my expectations!! Hoping to get to the Big Meet in October. Cheers Russ
