Can I ask another question? If the abs sensor had failed would it not bring up an ABS fault on the dashboard ?

Thanks for the replies guys , I meant to add that the odometer is not registering miles either . Van is not being used at the moment so it’s not doing any miles anyway . It’s really frustrating when you use a code reader but it doesn’t actually tell you what the exact problem is!!😂 Which wheel is the speed sensor located on ?

Hi guys , my Speedo is not working and the engine management light is on . fault code po 500. I had my mechanic check the wiring to the conversion chip , he says it is ok . what would be my next move , replace the chip ? not really sure where to go next , only £70 for new chip , im thinking its worth a punt . Any ideas welcomed 👍🏻

What made you think the offset would be the same ? It might be , I do t know , but it’s critical that it is , you just can’t bang on a set of wheels from another manufacturer without knowing the offset .

I got my multi meter out , alternator charging as normal , leisure g battery charging as it should . Totally weird ,it wasn’t charging at all on holiday , do t understand it .

Thanks for the offer , I will check it out to see if that is the problem . lll need to get the multi meter out and see what is going on with it . I’ll be in touch if the alternator is knackered thanks

We are just back from a 2600 miles trip through France and in to Italy back up through the alps . It was a great holiday , however the Alphard has come back with a bit of battle damage ! one of the radiator fans seized in the south of France , not good in the blistering heat . I reckon the alternator isn’t putting out enough volts , as mh dc - dc charger stopped working . Then to top it all off when back in Blighty we hit a huge pothole on the A1M , which burst the front strut !!😡 The thing is it came from Japan on lowered bilsteins , I’m having a real time finding a replacement . I might have to replace the whole lot ! Apart from all this we had a great time 😂

Thanks Chris , I was hoping it was this 👍🏻 I took some in my hand yesterday it had no smell , so I was pretty sure it was water . the air con in the back has been running full time , it’s not usually on I think this is why I hadn’t noticed it before .

It might be worth a look it actually a rear conversion , I checked everything apart from the water bottle . I was paranoid it was petrol tank will have a look in the morning thanks for your help 👍🏻

Hi guys we are currently on holiday on the south of France . after sitting stationary for two hours on the motorway after an accident I heard a clunk from the engine compartment , the temp started going up . cut a long story short one of the fans is knackered , I have unplugged it , the other one is fine . I reckon I will be ok with the one fan on hopefully. However I noticed another problem when I got to the campsite I noticed a drip coming from the area behind the back wheel drivers side , any ideas what this could be ? Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble it’s been a very stressful 10 hour journey 😵

I bought a scanner but it didn’t actually give me the exact problem. it could of been vacuum leak , o2 sensor or maf . I took a chance on a second hand maf on eBay for £30 , took 5 minutes to fit , no more engine light . might be worth removing the maf sensor and giving it a proper clean , I reckon that would actually of fixed my problem, no need to buy a new one .

I think this is the one I have , it’s really well made and the guys that sell it are great . I thought it would be as easy to assemble as an ikea chest of drawers …. It wasn’t ! I took it back and got them to do it for me 😂 the only thing I still need to get is the cushions , the guy next door to first cut makes them , they were £300 I’m sure , I thought that was a bit too steep

No one at all got 18” wheels ?

It requires a good push down to fully engage I only use it when actually parking up . At lights I always leave an automatic in drive and just hold it on foot brake no need to knock it into neutral this is only mh opinion others may disagree 😎

They are directional , they are fitted correctly , I went with the higher load rating when I bought them , due to the Weight of the vehicle . I think the company that imported it out the bigger wheels on it .

I have a problem with mine bottoming out too. itdidnt start doing it till I put new tyres on the front , they are the same size bit a different brand . the thing is they actually look slightly larger , I will swap the rears for the fronts to see if it cures it . it looks good on 18” wheels on the lowered suspension , I do t want to put it back to stock !

Hi anyone got 18” wheels on their Allphie ? if so what size of tyres are you using ? The reason I ask is mine has been lowered and it’s bottoming out at the front . it wasn’t doing it till I changed my tyres , they are the same size 235/50 18 but the new avons look bigger than the old Pirelli’s! Its really annoying , I will have to get it sorted

I have the same problem , car runs perfectly but as of yet not had the problem fixed . it’s a pain in the arse as the code could be a few different things

I bought it off eBay , £1000 , it comes flat packed . it’s very similar to the other rear conversions I e seen , quite a bit cheaper . I think the company is called First Cut . if I can post photos I’ll definitely get them up .

I had a look at this again , the code is there Po174 . could be a few things , hoping it’s nothing major . I’ve also bought a rear conversion that I need to fit , looks like I’m going to be busy 👍🏻

I do t remember seeing an actual code it just said too lean , will have another look tomorrow

Cheers mate , I may have a go at replacing the oxygen sensor , see if that cures it

I bought myself a i soft code reader , seems to work fine on the alphard . it’s saying bank two air fuel too lean . Not sure which bank is which ? it would be handy if it was a bit more specific , could be a couple of things causing that fault o2 sensor possibly ?

Yep v6 , it had to be for me . 2 tonnes takes a bit of moving , 2.4 not enough poke for me 👍🏻

I’ve been keeping an eye on this, it comes after about 10 - 15 minutes of driving . im going to get the timing belt done and a major service , will get it looked at at the same time . apart from the light being on I’m really happy with the car , I’m going to get a rear conversion and fit it myself 👍🏻
