  1. The ticking may be Too large a valve clearance. This generally is not an issue. It will affect fuel efficiency a tiny bit. The problem is with exhaust valves becoming too tight. They do not tick,but can cause valve overheating issues and serious reduction in performance. Scheduled servicing is a key to good vehicle reliability. This is one of the reasons I buy directly from Japan, these people do not cheap out.
  2. The O2 sensors are a common fault, I have been told. Allways record your numbers before you reset. Quite often you can go online and get great answers to the problem. These answers are often only indirectly linked to the fault you see. Good luck.

  4. The first 2 post are spot on. First things first Battery cables. Don't forget the earth strap to chassis connections
  5. Just purchased a MZ 2006 with the same areal starter. I have pressed the Ii key and the engine shows off with communication to the vehicle. Can you tell me the key press sequence, are there any other required conditions to make it start. Regards Andy
