  1. Check that the door unit/wire hasn’t snapped and the dealer/previous owner just replaced the switch with a blanking plate to prevent/avoid operation. Mine is like that and the cable remains can be seen in the external slot below rear window with the motor still in the door looking worse for wear. Some of the mechanisms still operate on that door but I just use both doors manually anyway.
  2. Hi, thought this may be handy for those looking to remove their Japanese aftermarket head units and whatever else might be installed. My system removed and layed out for for info. Addzest Head unit (Clarion) Sanyo CD changer mounted under passenger seat and dash remote control system FM stereo modulator (?) behind head unit Panasonic DTV tuner (with r/c) was mounted in passenger footwell with receivers either side at top of windscreen. Addzest expand TV Tuner Inverter under passenger seat Toll card signal box mounted behind rear view mirror. Loads of cables and wires which once identified can be removed and allow the identification of the original loom connectors redundant or otherwise. The one thing that makes everything easier is how the trim comes apart, very straightforward with proper trim tools. I’ve fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB with steering control kit to our fairly standard Series 10. Cheers Stew
  3. Hi, we’re in Moray and definitely seems to be growing number in the area. We love ours (2.4) and the lpg route is looking appealing other than the installation cost up here so enjoy the benefits! Stew
  4. We’ll after having thought I’d fixed my erratic speedo needle (wouldn’t go past 20kmh and jumping) and the engine light coming on - I was wrong. Had soldered all joints to the converter unit including the earth connector but in the end went with the advice to remove the converter and all now working as it should. Will probably go for the mph dial face instead. So I hope this tale adds to helping anyone in the future.🤨
  5. Hi, if it’s any help I removed my block connectors and soldered mine behind the dash after engine light came on and the Speedo needle was acting erratically. Easy to get to behind dash and alter. yet to test speedo but engine light is out.
  6. Thanks and hi, Looks a bit more of a challenge than the usual motors but looking forward (I think) to some fixes with the sliding door, electrics and that head unit but I see a lot of helpful topics and comments so am sure I’ll get through them over the next wee while. Now notice more Alphard’s in the area so must be growing in popularity!
  7. Hi, we’ve now been the owners of a 2004 Alphard for two weeks now. Delivered from DJ Autos of Wigan to Moray on the back of a trailer by a very nice transport guy called Lucas who drove through the night to arrive at 7.30am. A milder 2.4l spec. model, 19” wheels and dark cloth interior bought with the intention of a future camper conversion after sitting in a Calder Campers one at the Aberdeen P & J live. With the cost of petrol it will be used sparingly to avoid the needle drop anxiety…. Already have a few questions waiting to pop out🤔 Stew
