  1. I drive light footed but when it comes to overtaking, chaging lane, joining motorway or just odd winter/snow /hydroplaning risk, I like the extra power that might be useful. I intend it to be driving it few times every week - not plan to clock more than 10k miles/year so its mpg not massively important too. I also wonder if the 4WD can be cheaper to buy (less desirebale due to mpg)
  2. Hi there, can you please pm the contact to me too, thanks!
  3. not applicable to your situation may be but if anyone importing car, I believe you can request an extra key made there itself for about 150 usd
  4. Many thanks for the reply, this is interesting twist, I was writing off the 4WD but may be I shouldn't. Is it 3.5L Alphie?
  5. the above questions might be applicable to most 4WD comparisions (there are more versions like first Gen has 4WDs - ANH15 / MNH15 etc
  6. Guys, could you please share what you know about.. Are Alphard(or Vellfire) ggh20w / ggh25w i.e. 2WD / 4WD significantly different in terms of:- a) road handling? b) fuel economy? Has extra body weight? c) can the 4WD be turned off? d) maintenance cost? e) driving in snow? f) longevity? g) reliability? h) life of tyres? i) braking? etc.. Any expert opinions / thoughts / personal experiences on this topic. Thankyou
  7. Was it 3.5L by any chance? Wonder how different are 3.5L v6 engine quotes, all else being equal..
  8. Thankyou Chris, really useful ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽŒ
  9. the fuel seller is? Esso?
  10. I don't mind saying here. It is nothing personal or rude. Basically in short AFAIK all ethanol diluted fuels are not best for engine economy or ecology. I hope premium fuel continues to be available. Hope that makes sense. It's already proven above about mpg. I had used e10 and had bad experience.
  11. Thankfully not...AFAIK
  12. I have not decided on importing myself, in discussion someone. One of my friend did import himself and he had positive experience. Either way I'd like to know the procedure and don't mind spending time on this as it seems fun..that's how boring I am โ˜บ๏ธ
  13. That's great I'll wait for contact ๐Ÿ‘ Yes dash cam wiring if done properly will be good. IOW guy can confirm swivel seat quote too as it sounded interesting idea.
  14. Issue is date of manufacture is not on auction sheet. So I'm not sure how to find out. Also dvla want some BIMTA certificate - not sure what that involves. Might have to look up / call them.
  15. Thanks Rojie. Hard to find this detail online.
  16. If you managed to get it sorted, please share the resolution for benefit of other members. Thanks
  17. amazing bit of research ๐Ÿ‘ thanks
  18. Hi I've tried hard but can't find launch date of Alphard 350G Executive package. Can anyone help or point to some relevant sources to look up? Thanks
  19. So dvla said 10 year is from date of manufacture.
  20. Cheers Rojie if I can retain the car in as much original specs, that will be my preference. Making notes on plan of action. Ideally would take it to the best person / establishment in UK who can do almost everything needed in one go. Install camera, fogs, usb points, 110v convertor, chip for speed etc. These contacts could all go into Alphie scribbles spreadsheet. Anyone knows best place for this in or around Southampton? As soon car is delivered, try to get things done in one go
  21. Morning Anyone used something like this on their Alphies? Looks neat.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402056836607 Frequency Changing Import Converter Antenna Radio FM 88-108 Mhz For Japanese Car
  22. TM trading seemed like genuine and large seller. Might be worth stopping by. "Crystal Ball" question - with recession / slow down heading our way, is it possible we might be drop in prices in coming months / post summer months
  23. Data is stored in Google cloud. To begin with it can be open to edit for all but access can be restricted as it evolves. If it becomes unwieldy we can lift and shift it to page in this forum and retain only the most useful information. This might not be a prefect way to capture information from the the word go but can really work great as a first step. But tbh this is only going to be as good as the contributing members. More often apathy and lack of use kills such initiative.
