  1. Thanks very much for that update. We’re not too far off Southampton so should my garage ever let me down that information and phone number could be useful Thankyou
  2. Hi not sure if this will be too far away but I use Sugoi Campers in Fareham (near Portsmouth). They import Alphards & Elgrands & convert them. They converted my Alphard & service & MOT it every year. Definitely recommend - they have recently won awards for their growing business.
  3. Hi been away so only just seen this - may be a bit late with my reply. We had the driveaway strip fitted on our van as part of the conversion so can’t remember how much that bit cost. Looks a simple piece of equipment & I believe it is glued on !!. It is a bit of a faff sometimes to attach & to take off & you have to mark the exact place to park for when you return so it fits back on but very useful to store the camping things in & have the shelter between van & tent when it’s attached. Haven’t been away that much in the van since we got it. I’m sure the more we use it the easier it will become !!!
  4. How funny that today I decided to clean my Alphie …. Took ages & had to go round with a toothbrush cleaning all the green algae out of all the cracks. I was complaining that there was so much of it when the other 2 cars on our drive don’t get any. I was glad to see this post & know that it’s not only my van that grows green algae!. There are a few marks from over winter that wouldn’t come off so I will try the wash/wax on them !
  5. Hi I am a total campervan novice, I have a 2005 2.4 Alphard & had this problem last year with the doors & twice the battery went flat. It had a new battery fitted when we bought it the previous year. Mine also is not used every day & on these occasions had been on the drive several days. Charging the battery sorted it out & our mechanic suggested we buy a ‘trickle charger’ device to stop it happening. Haven’t really looked into it yet & not had any problems this year yet but now make a point of going out more in the van especially as it’s getting colder.
  6. Having not driven an automatic before & find my Alphard very different from anything I have driven before I found this topic extremely useful - Thankyou 😊
