  1. Looks like you guys all had a great time, and it was very interesting to see that long line of Alphards in many different guises and optioned up differently. For an Alphard newbie like me, this would have been fascinating, and confirmed my decision to buy one of these machines, but the range of Alphards (and probably Vellfires too) told me how much research into this vehicle I should have done, but didn't do, beforehand, and how lucky I was with the actual car I landed up with. Hope to be able to participate next year....
  2. I looked at the video that you referenced. It seems that the YouTube video is showing how to change the language on a specific Pioneer head unit and, assuming that that is the unit you have, it looks like they're just using a standard SD card and copying the original Japanese language file on to the SD card to back it up in case of a problem. It shouldn't be difficult to find a regular SD card so that you can do this. Good luck, NB
  3. Thanks, Craig, very informative. Just one quick question (well, probably the first of several, but the rest will take time) - does the radio come with the ability to pick up UK band signals - can I get Radio 4 or stations north of 99.9 FM? Thanks, NB
  4. Hi Frank: Where did you find the instructions for changing the language? So far my Alphard has taught me the Japanese for "Watch out behind you" (or however that translates into English) when reversing and coming close to something, but it would be good to be able to understand the rest of the extensive vocabulary! Best from Nigel
  5. What a great idea. I'm very new to the whole Alphard thing, and I'm loving my 2008 20-series. Unfortunately, since we live in Canada and I'm not planning to be in the UK (and reunited with my car) till late November, I won't be able to participate, but I'll really look forward to reading the reports afterwards and seeing the photos. Does anyone like the idea of a section where we can tell how we got interested in the Alphard/Vellfire, and how we bought our first one? My story is somewhat interesting... Best wishes, NB
  6. Hello: Thanks for this extremely interesting and useful article. I wish I'd seen it before jumping in to buying my Alphard, but as it turns out, I seem to have been lucky; my car is actually a pretty good one, and the dealer I bought from was okay. When we're in the UK, we're based in Bournemouth; would you be prepared please to PM or email me with the name and location of the dealer you found in Dorset? Thanks in advance, and best wishes, NB
