Headlight Aim Set To High
Brian1957 replied to Brian1957's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
Hi Rojie Thanks for taking time to reply. Just back from mechanic and he looked at back wheel and sensor rod is broken,he also pointed out that you cannot adjust headlight aim from adjusting the headlights as part of that is missing,he has suggested to save costs to try identify the rod and sensor from eBay or such like because being an import he will fit the parts but cannot order them bec ause it being imported vehicle. Any suggestions on where to order those from? Sorry to trouble you Thanks Brian -
Headlight Aim Set To High
Brian1957 replied to Brian1957's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
Hi Rojie Thanks for your info. The MOT tester/mechanic asked me was there a switch or roller wheel inside the cabin to adjust as thought that there should be. However I will be going back to discuss with him at the weekend. Myself I have never seen a switch inside the Alphard that adjusts the lights is there meant to be? Picasso has mentioned the level sensor which I will get a price for a replacement also. The adjustment screws that are from back of lights do not seem to adjust manually either so guess it is totally dependant on the electric adjustment from the motors under the headlights itself. Thanks for your response though very helpful. Brian -

Discs and pads Front and rear
Brian1957 replied to Brian1957's topic in Toyota Alphard Used Parts & Accessories
Hi BigNev Thanks for your message and apologies for delay in getting back to you. I am reasonably happy with Apec red but heard from a few mechanics now that Brembo were far better just that when replacing discs the pads would have to be replaced also. It is always good getting opinions on such like from folks with the experience. Will be ordering in the next few days so at this stage my thoughts are my van is not a racing machine but in the event it can stop a few yards quicker safety is possibly bettered.Recently our mechanic suggested put Brembo discs pads at front and at rear less important as 75% breaking power is all on the front in general. I am no mechanic and like to get opinions as money is not something I can afford to waste. Will let you know but no complaints about Apec red they are possibly all that is needed. Thanks again -

Discs and pads Front and rear
Brian1957 replied to Brian1957's topic in Toyota Alphard Used Parts & Accessories
No problem and will do Apec Red is what is on now but if discs are needed want them same brand Apec blue are seemingly not so good as Apec Red but looking too compare and listen to other folk like you for guidance. Don't mind paying a little more if better but obviously don't have money to throw or waste. Will let you know how I go thanks -

Hi Michael Thanks for all your efforts and time, this was very kind of you to try and help. We will keep our eyes open and for next year hopefully we will find something suitable. Have a safe journey if coming to Scotland but watch out for snow as I heard it is coming soon. Again all the very best for now and thanks for your time and efforts. Best regards Brian

Hi Michael Thinking about something for additional living space and don't want to go into Megabucks. Would be happy to buy second hand if one for sale and happy to pay extra for carriage. Lovely campervan for my wife and I and our dog but extra space would be great. Our van has the side kitchen fitted. Look forward to hearing from you with any more info, thanks in advance. Hi Pipsyp Thanks for all your help here you have been fantastic, thank you. I have no idea what oil is in van but the one I intend going with is as below.Should I do a oil wash or just drain and leave plenty time to drain out before putting this in. Got this one from the site you suggested, spoke to a guy there and he said that A5/B5 is all good with the info you gave me earlier. Trouble is you don't really know what garage puts in to your car. But do take your comments on mixing oils but whether drain time should be flushed out at same time is a point, any comments welcome.
