  1. When a battery is replaced is it necessary to reprogramme the ecu, which I have heard you have to do with some modern cars
  2. Hi BigNev. Thanks for the reply. No I don't drive wjth headlights on, except at night obs. The only thing I know is on apart from what's necessary is the head unit which is an after market replacement for the original Japanese fit. The main problem I have is after a couple of days the battery voltage drops to about 11.8v or less, so there is a parasitic draw somwhere. Yet when I check the current draw on the battery, it's about 90 to 100 milliamps, which should not drop the battery voltage so quickly as far as I know. Which makes me question the battery which is a 60ah.
  3. Hi guys. I have a 2010 Vellfire eith a 60ah battery. It looks like the battery is not taking a full charge. It stays at a charging voltage of 14.4 volts no matter how long the car is driven. I've checked the alternator ac volttage which is well below the voltage to indicate a faulty diode. My question is, if I change the battery to one recommended on this forum eg Bosch 70ah, does the car ecu need to be reprogrammed for the new battery. Advice would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi Craig. I'm new to the forum and my Vellfire came with a UK type head unit which is packing up. So I was very interested in your post. Can you tell me if you had any problems with the fascia and did it need a new one (as advertised on the Aliexpress page. I notice from your photos that the head unit seems to sit just outside the Toyota fascia. Also, can the roof monitor be connected to this one?
  5. Yes. It's looking like I'm stuck with the one. I'm going to have to be very careful with it!
  6. Hi Rojie. I've contacted several Auto locksmiths and so far they told me they don't have the software programmes for Jap imports. I will try a Toyota dealer as well as trying more auto locksmiths but no luck so far.
  7. Hi. I recently bought a 2010 Velfire but unfortunately only one key. The key is the five button version so I am interested in finding out if anybody knows where I can get a spare key programmed. All help appreciated.
  8. Hi. I recently bought a 2010 Velfire 3.5 G with only 30850 miles on the clock. This car is immaculate and I'm looking forward to driving it, once the insurance and tax kicks in on 1st November! It has had mods made by the former Japanese owner which includes very smart rear LED brake lights and indicators and soft blue interior lighting. When I get the chance I will post pics. Enjoying the forum so far with a lot of useful gen.

  9. Hi everybody. Took delivery of a 2010 Velfire just yesterday, which was delivered to my home. The car is immaculate and has only 30850 miles on the clock. There have been a few mods carried out, (in Japan as far as I know), which include rear led brake and indicators and soft blue mood lighting inside. I'll post pics when I get them. One problem I noticed after the delivery is that the interior courtesy light and the lights for the courtesy mirrors are not working. Has anybody got any ideas?
