Cornishsparks Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Hi, My Alphard 2004 3.0 starts when cold but then will not restart after the car has been driven for more than 10 minutes and stopped. There is no sound when the key is turned. If left for a while the car will start again. The battery is good as only recently replaced. The car will not jump start from a slave battery. I would like to try and replace the starter relay to see if that is the cause before looking at the starter motor and solenoid. Please could you advise where this is located. Thanks.
Picasso Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Solenoid is part of the starter motor I would personally say your starter motor is at fault and needs to be replaced 1
Cornishsparks Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Thanks Picasso. Have replaced the starter motor and running again. 👍
MonsterS Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Good to hear. I have had the same issue. I got the starter replaced. it was very easy to do.

Guest Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Can anyone please tell me how to get to the starter motor on an Alphard Hybrid 2004 import as it will not turn over. The relay clicks, the one behind the glove box, Battery is good. My daughter blew the main fuse when jump starting. I have replaced this and fitted a new battery. Everything else works but the starter isn't turning so need to get to it to check the solenoid and starter itself
