One with what looks like a sensor on the back of the mirror (or a camera??), and one without.. Can anyone tell me what is actually is please?? There is no mention of an auto dimming mirror in my Owners Manual, which is for the earlier Gen 1 models. Wonder have anyone experienced the same or have tried to remove those plastic covers which covers the fixing? As I don't want to force it and break anything, thanks. Chris.ac Posted May 16, 2022 Share Posted May 16, 2022 You are right, on the alphards exported to china, they had to have auto headlamp dipping fitted, that big Boi incorporates a filter/lens to detect oncoming traffic and when within a certain range, will turn off high beams, it is setup for driving on the right hand side carriage way, so not sure if the lens setup would work on UK roads. There is an anti glare mirror that has a small sensor on the inside face, that will detect headlamps behind you and auto flip the mirror to cut glare.
