Spark Plugs

Recommended Posts

Has any nut case like me tried changing the spark plugs, well the ones on the rear bank on a 3.0 V6?

Just done a couple of hours taking the intake manifold off as I can't change them with it on. It's a bit of an arse, got 3 struts on the back of the manifold, well 2, one is on the throttle body. One with the 12mm bolt won't come out, feels like I'm going to crack the plastic🤦‍♂️ either going to take it off at the block or chop it.

Used to have a Celica gt4 import that I rebuilt the engine on, reminded me of that as I think that had 2 struts on, left them off in the end.

This job is actually very easy, it actually comes down to one strut/stay at the back of the inlet manifold that really spoils the job.

Can get an open ended spanner on it but was so tight I just could not get it off. Removed the strut in the end, which also has a P clip attached to the strut which holds a pipe. Once removed it's a doddle, if anyone needs help with this just let me know.
