Hybrid problem

After months of trying to sort the inverter problem P3125, Mark (hybrid specialists) found an inverter that seemed fine but the diagnostic threw up a P3009 voltage leak…..so out came the hybrid battery to be serviced.  Put back in and another problem.  Out came the hybrid battery again and found a module to be faulty, changed it and the battery went back in. Starts, sounds lovely but after a few moments up comes the red car and VSC light. Fault P3125 P3000.  Drove it round the block and drives fine, but those lights are still on.  It shows four wheel drive working, and battery went from 2 bars to 3.  I think Mark has decided that 11 months of trying to sort this car for us is enough….
Any idea, help or where we can take it to try and get it sorted?

The only place I know is Campers Scotland in Denny. It took 3 months to sort my Alphard as they are camper conversion rather than a garage. I've yet to find anyone in South Wales who will even touch it for anything other than mot.

Try Osaka Toyota Specialists in newport South Wales. They specialise in imported Toyotas and have a Toyota trained hybrid master tech working there. I’m sure they can sort it out.

Hi all,

Im new to this forum but since purchasing my Toyota Alphard 2.4 Hybrid last year (after months of hassle with shipping delays, then DVLA delays and god knows what else..!) i have an issue which others have faced, today 3 warning lights went off, bottom right red colour car with exclamation mark, top right VSC and top right yellow colour Circle with exclamation mark, im based in London and took it to a place that deals with Hybrids, they said its likely the Hybrid-battery, after completing a diagnostics-test they concluded that it is the Hybrid-battery, now the battery itself is rather pricey.

The options they gave is 1) Brand new £2400 with 2-years warranty or 2) used for £1200 with 6-months warranty, im not experienced in cars (couldn’t tell the difference between the screen wash and oil filter) and contacted two firms from google who repair hybrid batteries, theyre far from London, ones in Torquay and the other in Glasgow, they can repair the existing battery for 3) £1000 with 12,000 miles warranty which is a reconditioning process for 25 hours or 4) the chap will replace the 30 cells with Gen-3 batteries thus giving it a much more higher performance at £1550 with 3-year warranty.

 

Im ultra confused and dont have a high budget to use on this car, any thoughts or guidance? i added the diagnostics report. 

 

The car is 2004 model, its on 80k miles, used for social/ private (no camper), outside of this its been a real dleight to drive this last year, no trobles at all, except for the costly fuel.

Perfect, that number looks familiar I believe I spoke to Mark,

 

consequently, a brand new battery from Toyota is around £4.5k with a 1.5k rebate

When I had my 1st breakdown sorted out, 2 of the hybrid cells were replaced at the cost of £50. each and I was told that no new cells were available, so he coud not guarantee them
