Powerslide door problem

Recommended Posts

My 2004 Alphard has power slide doors on both sides. Offside works perfectly in all modes. Nearside works manually, when you use handle, dash button or remote to power open it gives long beep and doesn't move. Similarly if you try to close it. I've looked at all the obvious things (esp for nearside door) so its not a window open or the fuel filler cap open. I'm told the cable is OK. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find more information, what it might be, or who can fix it?

On Google the following:-

The power sliding door can be reset simply by disconnecting the battery, reconnect the terminal (which reset the power door), turn on the power door button and press the open/close button. If this does not fix the problem then you have to look at other area like door's motor, cable etc.

Good luck

Patrick

The engineer who converted my Alphard suggested

1. Turn off power to doors. This is by using a button to left of steering wheel PWR DOOR OFF

2. Manually open/close doors using (in my case) a bit of force

3. Turn power to doors back on
