Picasso Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Phil do you have the part no. Of the sensor you bought from toyota
Picasso Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Maf sensor can trigger same code air flow sensor
Tricky Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I had the same problem and it was the maf sensor.

CBBrundall Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Could be the wrong petrol as well...E5 is far better....ours came on as well and we replaced, was advised E5 in furure

Mas air flow is inside the air intake barrel, its a very fine wire

Picasso Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 The sensor you had replaced is not correct part no. The correct part no. Is 8954228100 so that is more likely the reason the light is still coming on the part no. You had fitted is a oxegen sensor not a fuel ratio sensor you need to get the correct part fitted

E5 or E10 should not make much difference. A fuelling problem, but unlikely to be the fuel itself. There is a lengthy thread on the forum; mainly discussing fuel economy and another on effects on engine longevity of the two fuels.
philip klein Posted September 6, 2023 Author Posted September 6, 2023 Hi, picasso does the fuel sensor fit in bank 1, which i thibk is at front of engine, where the oxegen senser is fitted.I no there is a senser under tbe van off the exaust.exuse my ignorense and mt spelling.
Picasso Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 fuel ratio sensor is the top one at the manifold bottom one is a oxegen sensor
Picasso Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 oxegen sensor and fuel ratio sensor are 2 different sensors
stopgapcat Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 We had the same symptoms and fault code on our 2006 3.0 litre - the garage cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor (for free!) when we took it in for a service, and this fixed the issue. Hope this helps!
