Ralph Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Late update. The bridging works perfectly. The challenge now is where to find the OEM rear monitor or someone in NZ can repair it. Thanks @Tama from fiji Edited January 24 by Ralph 2
Tama from fiji Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Heck yea bro. I found a couple at scrap yards but I'm just worried it won't be worth it. I'm thinking of doing a aftermarket one.
Ralph Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Im also thinking of aftermarket one but could be hard for me to install it. 😁 By the way where you find it,I mean which scrap yard? Im looking but cannot find anything. Im located in East Auckland. 1
Tama from fiji Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I live in np and was there for about a week searching scrap yards. I found a couple down south auck, national car removal and car parts Ltd, JCP Parts had vehicles but the conditions were questionable. It's worthing having a gander as you're up there, maybe you'd probably find us a solution 🫡

Filipe Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Hi, I’m from Melbourne Australia, my 2014 Vellfire has exactly same issue like your, sound stopped working from all speakers and the roof top monitor stopped working also. I asked my local audio shop to check, but no luck, they couldn’t handle my case. Any suggestion to fixing this issues ? Appreciated your input & help!
Tama from fiji Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Have a read throughout this post I reckon it would have a similar fix.

That's how I get the sound back. And I swapped the headunit for an android system too.. My Vellfire got the same problem audio stopped working as well as the roof monitor. Would you explain more in details how to fix it ? Appreciate your help !
Tama from fiji Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Steps to remove the head unit is 1.Remove trim surrounding the t.v unit 2.remove the 4 shiny bolts and and lower t.v unit down. 3. Locate and bridge brown connector as stated in the video. You can do this by using spare wires and just bridge them from the plug (female) side and ensure it is secured. 4.test and see if they work 5. Out everything back and you should be sweet. 1

Tama from fiji Posted March 6 Posted March 6 No, this is a fix to get only your audio back. What happens is over time condensation and normal ware of the components within the t.v unit stops working and hence it breaks a circuit within the amplifier, when this happens it causes the amplifier to think there is a fault within the whole system, speakers last longer and the first to go are the t.v units. So yes this is a common occurrence and fault with these systems. Apart from that this is the knowledge I have gathered ever since this has happened to me. Cheers and I hope this works for you.

Thanks, if I replaced an OEM roof top monitor, do you think the speakers will back to normal ?
Tama from fiji Posted March 6 Posted March 6 One way to find out if it's actually the t.v is the problem is to test it by bridging those wires. If it works then there's your problem. It's an expensive replacement and if I'm wrong and it's a speaker that's causing the issue or something else then you'd be at a loss. Are you still able to put the screen down through the radio?
