Bash Alphard
Hi, I have recently joined the Owners Forum and whilst I await the delivery and build of my 2011 Vellfire V6, I thought I’d prepare myself and seek some advice from more established owners. I have had the benefit of both seeing a completed vehicle and taking a test drive, but it is only since reading some of the many articles on the forum that I have discovered my total lack of knowledge and so I would be grateful if you can illuminate me on my first request being the security features that may be on the vehicle and what I need to consider. The list is not extensive and any additions or omissions will be gratefully received: 1. Are they fitted with alarms? 2. Do they come with locking wheel nuts? 3. Is a steering wheel lock advisable and if so what do you recommend? 4. Is a wheel clamp recommended and if so makes etc? 5. Does the forum recommend a tracker and any suggestions please? My apologies for the length of my initial foray onto the Forum, but I know you can appreciate that given the investment involved in these vehicle and in an attempt to protect and mitigate the likely insurance costs etc, I am very keen to ensure that my vehicle is protected as best as possible and deter any attempt on it. I look forward with interest to any recommendations. Regards, Bash Alphard

I bought Maguard (?) locking wheel nuts for my van; you must check for the correct wheel fitment, conical or flat washers.
Bash Alphard
Rojie Thanks for the welcome and the advice. As a Newbie I sure I’ll be active on the forums in the months to come as I settle in with the Vellfire.
Chris.ac
It has electronic steering lock along with the immobilizer as standard. Factory alarm was an option, you'd have a separate fob and a small pyramid like sensor on the dash. You can buy a tracker for around £20, and fit a cheap pay monthly SIM like lyra mobile,, so£60 a year to run it.
Chris.ac
Look at trackers by micodus, if like me you want to manage it yourself and don't want to pay a subscription on top of a SIM.
Bash Alphard
Chris.ac Thanks for you input and ad I said previously, I will be filling my time up to delivery following through on the recommendations and no doubt revert back with many more questions in the future.
