Hi All , I have at last booked my 2006 ALPHARD in to have cruise control fitted . Thanks to Lee who got involved from the start . He found a dealer who is an importer of the Toyota Alphard in Worcester . When I called them , they were very helpful and asked just one main question . ( Does it have a mirror on the N/S front wing if so this denotes a facelift model ) So, he is adamant he can do it  after splicing certain wires . I will come back and tell you how it went , having it done Wednesday I can wait for it,cafe on site , it wont take too long,  and he has all the parts and it`s a great price too.

Hi Lee, I only have a total because he is doing a couple of jobs for me as well . I will ask him to break it down , and then let you know. He is charging me £150.00 all in hopefully. Sorting the rear charging point \ cig lighter. And looking at why the engine runs fast whilst cold . I did the YOU TUBE  thing,turning the key off and on twice holding it in drive with the footbrake on . Helped a little but as I start it it`s around 2000 revs and I like to wait for it to come down before engaging the gearbox .Once warm it now ticks over about 900 revs . So a little better . Cheers Joe

On my 2005 facelift model (with the kerb-mirror) I got the following items:

'75b037 Holden Steering Wheel Button for Toyota Previa UK1870633-30' -  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126400441233 (used) - £21.00 + p&p = £32.88

'CRUISE CONTROL STALK SWICTH FIT FOR TOYOTA YARIS RAV4 LANDCRUISER PRIUS AURIS' - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184954212553 (new) - £9.07 + p&p = £10.88

'Car Cruise Switch Dust Cover For Toyota Brevis / Land Cruiser Prado/ Lexus GX470' - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394985766079 - £12.88 + p&p = £15.46

Total = £59.22

I am still waiting for the last item but have fitted the first two and when I press the 'On' button I get the green 'Cruise' light up on my dashboard. i have yet to test but it's looking good so far.

The only real issue I had was that there is another connector (a flat ribbon) at the bottom of the 'steering wheel button' assembly that I couldn't get to detach so I swapped the connector cable rather than the whole unit.

I now need to tie-wrap the replacement cable into place, but no biggie.

It took about 30 mins and would have been less if I have the right tools with me from the start.

Yep - it all works fine, having tested it on a local 40 MPH section of road. rather chuffed with that.

Hi Paul, very well done . I have already sorted my cruise , ( well not me personally ) I took it to an importer in Worcestershire . All working , just been to France getting over 30 mpg . I feel it would of been more , but my Brother- in - Law drove at least half the time . And sadly he has a lead foot LOL At the moment I filled the tank after getting back home . So. just waiting to run out to test it again . All the best with what you`ve done hope you get more miles too .

Ah it turns out that:

'Car Cruise Switch Dust Cover For Toyota Brevis / Land Cruiser Prado/ Lexus GX470' - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394985766079 - £12.88 + p&p = £15.46'

is black rather than grey (which is entirely my fault for not noticing) so it doesn't quite match, but it does fit at least.

added that it was my fault

Mine is black too , but it matches what my interior looks like . In fact when first done I couldn`t find it . Just think of the money you will save that always spurs me on .
