burgermeister Posted January 11 Posted January 11 So my Alfie failed big time on CO emissions and lambda sensor readings today. I am about to buy a fuel additive to try and give her a good clean out, but I wanted some advice on where to even begin to fix the issue. It's a 2.4 2007 alphard platinum
Picasso Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Welcome Ross this is a hot topic on here about emission fails get your self a bottle of cat cleaner put full bottle in about quarter tank and give it a good hard drive this should clean it . Lot of these problems are caused by stop start driving you need to give the Alphard a good hard drive once a month . 1
burgermeister Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Nice one, am hoping this will help, topped up on Friday so I'll run as much out of her as I can before adding the cleaner
BigNev Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Hi Ross! From your location you have a lovely stretch of motorway to go at. you don't have to speed, use the gear selector to keep the engine revs up to get the catalytic converters nice and blooming hot. As Picasso says, jolly good results can be had from some of the cleaners. The one I have used in the past is Cataclean, but there's plenty of choices! Good luck with it, keep us updated please, and let us know which cleaner you go for! Cheers! 1
