tino7770 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 At what sort of mileage would you be expected to change transmission fluid in a 2010 3.5
BigNev Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I'd say at about 15 years old or when I just bought it 😄 As that's what I did personally. It's not too hard at all, but you do need to be able to see transmission fluid temp to get the level right with the "overflow tube" method it uses.
tino7770 Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 I think I will give it a go given its not a difficult job
R4v3n Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I'm following the recommendations of "The car care nut" on Youtube, who was a Toyota mecanic and used to 2GR & the 6 speeds auto gearbox with it. So those are the following : Auto gearbox oil change : 100k km (62k miles) OR 6 years  And for the history I'll let others infos there : Cooling liquid change : 80k km (50k miles) OR 5 years Brakes fluid change : 3 or 4 years (or you can use a cheap tester too) 2GR-FE spark plugs change : 100k km (62k miles) OR 10 years
BigNev Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) I did the filter as well, if you take the sump off be aware there is still about a litre and a half of fluid, have a bowl under there! Edited January 24 by BigNev Sorry, it's only about a litre, still plenty to get messy!
