PaulS_ Posted Sunday at 05:15 PM Posted Sunday at 05:15 PM I should know this but I don't... If I use the button on the tailgate to open the boot, should it open itself by a motor? Pressing the "open boot" button in the ceiling console does indeed to that - motorised open - but opening the boot directly is not motorised on my Alphard.
Philllx Posted Sunday at 08:09 PM Posted Sunday at 08:09 PM (edited) On my gen2 vellfire if I press the button on the tailgate it just unlocks it. Edited Sunday at 08:10 PM by Philllx
BigNev Posted Sunday at 08:49 PM Posted Sunday at 08:49 PM Hi Paul! Yes, it is working correctly. It should motor open with the overhead button, and the button on the remote, but the switch in the tailgate itself unlocks it (and the other doors) but doesn't activate the motor to open. And the tiny little one just to the right of it will lock the car, if the fob is on you and in range. There is however, on Ali express, a wiring loom addition that will make it do that, motor open from the button - I bought one! Search "Automatic opening tailgate module Toyota Alphard", different module cover different years. Simply plugs in to the wiring behind the covers on the nearside rear pillar!
