Kathryn Posted Tuesday at 06:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:26 PM hi, Hoping someone can help, I've a 2004 3litre petrol alphard, converted to 4 berth camper. the entertainment system is turned on via a small circular black switch which is situated between the steering wheel and the touch screen. The switch has a red led light to show its on. I was picking up dropped 'stuff' from the drivers side floor, when i noticed another if these black circular switches on the plastic panel just below the steering wheel. It was lit up with same red led. The manual doesn't mention it, it is a translation and only for the mpv so no camper info. There's also a blue light at the side of the petrol cap and bonnet opening switches which seems to flicker if i turn off and back on. any ideas?, I hope its not for an ejector seat Thanks Kathryn (alphard and camper newby ) Another 'newby' question, my rear fog light is out. I've been told it's a 45 min job as the wing needs to come off? . Really!!! And is it an mot failure?
Gamith Posted Tuesday at 06:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:46 PM >And is it an mot failure? You need to have functional front and rear fog lights to pass an MoT is my understanding. As for the difficulty of replacing them it would depend on what you have - a picture of the rear lights would help with this as there are some variants: a dual-filament bulb in the boot door the lower reflectors can be replaced with active LED lights a light slung below the rear bumper I doubt it would be 45 mins to do if you know what you need to do, but I will reserve judgement until we have a better idea.
smurf Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM At least one working rear fog light in the centre or to the right of the vehicle is the MOT requirement. Front fog lights aren't a testable item. Not sure why a wing would need taking off for a rear fog lamp repair?
Gamith Posted Thursday at 06:46 AM Posted Thursday at 06:46 AM >Not sure why a wing would need taking off for a rear fog lamp repair? Most likely the rear bumper as it makes access to the reflectors easier - it's only a few clips and takes maybe 5 mins.
