I didn't realise it when I bought the Alphard 2.4 Hybrid earlier in the year, that it is fitted with 215/60R17 wheels/tyres. This only came to light when I went to check the tyre pressures and realised that the 215/60R17 option isn't listed in the manual for the Hybrid, only the 215/65R16. It is however listed for the non-hybrid 2.4

The car drives perfectly OK but my immediate dilemma at the moment is what pressure to run the tyres at as the hybrid is heavier than the non-hybrid 2.4: any suggestions?

Hi Kevin!

Yes, just run them at what's on the door plate, perhaps plus a psi or two.

Which will probably be around 36 to 38 psi.

And for almost all cars!

It's not a racing car, it really won't make any appreciable difference.

There's plenty of other posts here, and everywhere for that matter, discussing the pros and cons of a bit more pressure in them.

Less rolling resistance, less grip to the road etc etc. But a little bit won't hurt!

Cheers, Nev
