Wet Seatbelts

Featured Replies

I Have a 2004 Alphard v with a pop top, after heavy rain the rear passenger seatbelts (both sides) and occasionally the front can be wet. This usually affects the side that is lower down based on the camber of the street. There is presumably a blockage in the drainage system somewhere. Does anyone have any suggestions for identifying and troubleshooting this. Sunroof drains have been highlighted elsewhere but certainly I no longer have a sunroof if it ever had one at all. Thanks all.

Hi

If it once had a sun roof and water can get to that area I would check the roof drains. Not too difficult to check from inside by moving down the roof lining above front doors.

I would also check carefully for tears and splits in the rubber seals around the doors

Check how tight the pop top seals fit onto the roof. The only drainage system is when a front sunroof and a rear moon are fitted, they are removed when a pop top is fitted

Thanks all, much appreciated

The obvious culprit here is the pop top roof and that’s where I’d be looking.
