Fan Belt Tensioner

Featured Replies

My garage has told me that a Fan Belt Tensioner for a 2003 Alphard 2.4 Hybrid 4x4 from a Toyota garage is £500, any idea where I can get one cheaper, he also said the belt was £90

Genuine belt shipped from Japan will cost that.

But you can buy an alternative compatible for less than half that.

The tensioner is about £400 shipped from Japan.

These could be sourced from an estima that also uses the 2azfxe engine.

Source of this information is amayama website - is a full parts catalogue.

Check out Autodoc and eBay or Amayama.com. Gates are a good quality belt then there is also Blueprint or Febibilstein

I paid just over £500 for a tensioner about a year ago. The price is due to it being the hybrid as the petrol versions are much cheaper and easier to come by. Mark at Hybrid Services managed to get one for me as Amayama/ Toyota EPC said the part was not being manufactured for an undisclosed period. The belt was £50 at the time from I think Jap Car Spares. Car dismantlers via eBay.

Dealer price for my Suzuki Vitara rear lamp cover £125, eBay £45.
