New Owner in Herts...

Featured Replies

Hello!

I just paid the deposit on an Alphard campervan conversion. I'll be picking it up in a few days time, so I'll add all the details then, with pics.

Just wanted to say hello for now - and thank you to the people who have already been so generous with their knowledge in other threads - you've helped me to take the plunge!

Hi Gary, I am in Stevenage, where I know there is at least another owner - a black Vellfire I think. Whereabouts in Herts are you?

I have approached the Toyota dealership in Letchworth and they seem fine with doing services at least on a 2005 Alphard.

Hi Paul - I seem to be about half a dozen miles away from you. Thanks for the information about the Toyota dealership. Initially, I'm inclined to see if my local independent mechanic will change the brake fluid and check the pads/discs/brake pipes (he's ex-Toyota and trustworthy). I'm pretty sure I can get the parts from Ebay quite cheaply.

Parts are, on the whole, readily available as long as you have the right part number(s). I use amayama.com as it is a good source of info - put in your model number and then you will get the correct numbers.

Then look on ebay, autodoc or similar. Its worth noting the amayama price though as sometimes they can be cheaper - though they will take longer to get to you.
