  1. Just to update, I asked one of the sellers if it is compatible with a Hybrid and was told these are not compatible with Hybrids apparently so I am probably not going to think about it again for now unless I get a confirmation on Hybrid ๐Ÿ˜…
  2. @Voodoo101 can i ask what kind of issues you have experienced with the head units? If you have posted already about them just link me to the post and I'll take a look. But these seem to be plug n play apparently and are vehicle specific (hopefully ๐Ÿ˜…) Price is the only thing putting me off for now.
  3. Language options. Since it's a configurable screen so you can set the display to whatever you want. Like you can configure a combination if speedometer and other data etc. existing one has 2/3 fixed dials plus a smaller lcd showing some information in Japanese that you will have to translate which cannot be an option while driving of course. Just getting the options to configure the display in a choice of languages along with a combination of different data seems good to me. But i have to agree that the price is on the steeper side as compared to overall benefits so def not that good of a value for money.
  4. Hi all, Had anyone looked at these or thought about buying one for their beloved Alphard/Vellfire? These look quite interesting and I'm thinking of getting one for mine. Not immediately as u still need to sort the head unit out first (on its way) but this looked good considering it offers a lift of options for display which you don't get with the built in one. Plus i hope the conversation of all units should be a breeze since it's a purely screen based interface. If anyone has already experienced these then it would be great if they can share it with the community. Regards, I just found this on AliExpress: ๏ฟก535.37 | 12.3" LCD Car Digital Dashboard Cluster For Toyota Alphard 2008-2014 Virtual Instrument Panel Speedometer Cockpit Meter Upgrade https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExTd4jo
  5. @Chris.ac if you still have the cd rom iso, i can dm you to upload it securely somewhere please ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. I suggest we create a post for series 20 like we have for series 10 for all manuals and add stuff there please rather than having to rely on people DM'ing members. That should help find things for new owners/members without having to poke some of the mods/admins.
  7. Can I also please get access to the manual @Chris.ac? Thanks in advance
  8. Did you have to wait to get the DVLA registration done or did it before that?
  9. Does anyone know what the difference is between the 240S and 240X the insurance companies ask for? How do we know which one is mine? Any guidance on that would be greatly appreciated. (I did search for 240 everywhere on the forum but could not find an answer)
  10. This is by far the best explanation I have got with regards to the road tax applying to Alphards and Vellfires (or you can say most Japanese Imports). This is from a DVLA agent I chatted with earlier. Hope this helps others wanting to find out the reasoning. So it basically does not matter whether its a 3L V6 or a 2.4 petrol or 2.4 Petrol Hybrid. Tax is the same for all due to following reasons: To find out the current exact rates, you can go to this URL and find out: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/other-vehicle-tax-rates Still don't know why would the govt charge same for a normal and Hybrid vehicle. Just a way to make more money I guess.
  11. Can you please link to that section as I did try and have a look and could not find any which is why I posted here as well.
  12. Adrian Flux ยฃ850 JapCover ยฃ1050 Chris Knott ยฃ1450 NFU Said cannot provide cover for an imported car unless I have some other policy with them. Very strange as some people here were able to get it from them. Comparison sites ยฃ650 (Admiral) Need to get in touch with a few more but its quite a big range
  13. I would like to get these recommendations as well as I am in the same region (Leicester to be precise) and going to get my Vellfire soon
  14. Yes they will be expensive. A bit surprised that brackets/adapters are not available for the 20 series. I have seen some on AliExpress for the 30 series for sure though. Looks like drilling holes is the only option at the moment ๐Ÿ™ˆ
  15. The wiring will be there but existing mirrors do not have cameras installed and my main concern is drilling holes for the cameras. If there are brackets/adapters available that would be better. I do not have the car yet though ๐Ÿ˜… it has departed JPN but I am just getting ready for all the changes I want to make to it ๐Ÿ˜
