  1. Hello all. Glad to have found this forum now, although I have owned my Alphard for 12 months and have just put it through the MOT today with no issues - and tester amazed at the brilliant condition. It is a white ALPHARD MS PREMIUM 3.0 G with grey Alcantara interior and twin sunroofs, rear one electric. Very nice to drive, and only downside is the 25 - 26 mpg I get. I am still struggling to understand the Japanese AV system. I haven't ditched it yet - but despite complexity, the one in my car does not appear to be the one fitted at the factory from new, as the front and rear cameras are not working through it ( which I would like ), so haven't decided what to do with that yet.
  2. Hi to all from Newbie. Have had my 2005 Alphard 3.0 MS Premium G ( Alcantara spec ) for a year now and enjoying ownership greatly. When I first got the car 12 months ago I had a go at the yellowing which was apparent on the headlights. I used a mild abrasive polish on them similar to T cut ( it was a white creamy liquid and a French equivalent to T cut ). I was amazed at how much yellow came off on the cloth - and the headlights looked so much brighter and less yellow when I had finished. 12 months on , it now needs doing again. Also had a chat with my MOT tester today ( best condition 13 year old car he has EVER seen ). He suggested that it may be possible to clear coat plastic headlights with 2 pack lacquer once they are cleaned up, and this is something he is going to look into, so this may be a lasting cure.
