  1. Cheers Rojie, negative feedback seem all to do with delivery, order quantity etc, which I did check (bought via Amazon). We plug in mainly for use with Fridge, and colder months, small heater (Kampa Diddy), charging phone/IPad when needed. Apologies if sounding dim, but is it dangerous to use then, as bought as a 16A cable, thanks
  2. Nevr had a site NOT let me plug in my 1.5......yet lol.
  3. According to Kazzas Cables, who make them...yes https://www.amazon.co.uk/Caravan-Camping-Motorhome-Extension-Electric/dp/B075DGSNCB/ref=sr_1_2?crid=GUSWANTYD5XL&keywords=25m+caravan+hook+up+cable&qid=1653932089&sprefix=%2Caps%2C50&sr=8-2 HTH
  4. Personally I use Auto Glym Resin Polish, after a good deep clean of the bodywork. However, mate of mine who has a Pearlescent Black body (as do I on my own car), and used the - Pure Definition Range - pure-definition.co.uk - following the instructions to the letter. Took a while, but have to admit looked showroom when he'd finished...the Black kit is currently out of stock, but I'm getting it when its back in stock. Good luck
  5. We had a 15m 'orange' cable supplied with the van, which has for 99% of the sites we have used, been more than adequate, however.....we have since bought a 25m cable in the 'blue', which is half the weight of the 15m, and had no issues with supply. We bought the 25m one as we were on a CC site in the Lakes where we needed every inch of the 25m. What we tend to do is ask the question of the site when booking, so we know which one to bring, but if were going to a CC site, will always take the 25m. Golden rule is whatever length you have DO NOT COIL IT, spread it out as much as you can. HTH
  6. Ah ok sorry, hope these work :-
  7. 20220513_133134.heic20220513_133118.heic Hope this helps (sent via moby, in a field in Cheshire)...
  8. Were away in it tomorrow, so when I pop the roof, I'll take a photo & post up here ok....bear with.
  9. We had an awning strip fitted when we got it converted, and is 230cm length, works a treat and sits inside the pop top.
  10. If i needed to top up my 05, 3.0l , what type/brand would folks recommend please ?
  11. We have a 230cm rail fitted to our Alph, and after much delving and investigation, we went for a Vango Faros II Air driveaway. Reason...the strip that attaches to the van is smaller than most at 250 (max), which means 10cm each side outside of the rail (driveaway strip straightens this and have had no issue whatsoever). Weve got it down to about 15 minutes from bag to fixed, and tbh has changed our away ventures massively. Easy to 'drive away' and re attach, so genuinely does what its supposed to HTH
  12. Pretty sure that is the fog light (rear), button, as they are not standard on Japanese models but are required for UK hence retro fitted. HTH
  13. Hey Starider, just out of curiosity, why are you getting rid ?
  14. Hi there, ok, we have a small sun canopy awning which is 260l in terms of awning attachment. The way we fit it, is to fit to length at the rear door end, and the windscreen end, I have attached a strap to the awning that can go over the van (between the pop top & the deflector). This helps 'lift' the loose end to the level of the rail, yet retain its integrity as a full length awning. We have also just bought a driveaway strip, which is pretty stiff, so this may negate the need for the strap, but if not, we know it still works. Hope that makes sense, just dont buy anything longer than 260cm
  15. We have this one from Maypole (we have bought the sides for it as well which we wanted), but love it. Put it up in minutes, and packs away in a very small bag, even with the sides. https://www.maypoleltd.com/product/mp9527-air-sun-canopy-for-campervans/
  16. Thanks Colin - no I dont have any steering wheel controls working. Rear camera works ok dont have front. If yours get sorted, appreciated pointing me to who did it so I can ctc them. Cheers
  17. Hi all, I need to replace the casing only on my key ( see below) - does anyone know if this is just a simple - Timpsons - job, or do I need anywhere else. It is just the cover that is over theunlock button that is cracked :- TIA
  18. We bought these, and have to say, they do exactly what they are supposed to do, easy to fit, easy to put away, sturdy and blackout Completely. Really do rate them :- https://fuellagoon.co.uk/collections/toyota/products/toyota-alphard-screen-cover-plain-deluxe UK Co, and that works for me....but they are very good. HTH
  19. OK people, have spoken to the local Car Audio Specialists who still say cannot be done, even with this adaptor (or maybe its just too fidly and doesn't want to). Says can do certain units/makes but not Pioneer. Anyone know of anyone in the NW (we're Wirral based) who they know can do it ? Many thanks
  20. Thanks Picasso - I'll send this to the local guy who told me 'cant be done' thanks for this.
  21. Going to assume you mean heating/insulation, as in keeping warm in the colder nights/months, and can share what we have done in ours, that has a pop top. There is a thermal cover that you can buy to wrap round the outside of your pop top, but in our opinion, too much faf (and add'l storage need). Be your choice on how you cover your front windows, but we have a external wrap that is insulated, but again haven't been out when there's white on the ground, so cant 100% report on its efficacy yet. It does however seem to work well thus far. We had a gas heater fitted to ours at conversion stage (Propex gas heater that runs of the vans gas bottle), but in all honesty we will be on sites with EHU, so will use only in emergency. It is very effective but unsure as to how long you can run it on gas, though it is thermostatic operation We bought a 'Kampa Diddy' fan heater, which sits on the worktop (sink top), which is EHU powered. Very efficient, doesn't keep us awake at night, but has kept us lovely and warm when needed. Works well in an evening as well, when sat down watching tv/playing cards. Will of course work off the Leisure Battery. I am thinking that if were away and its VERY cold, we may well close up the pop top, and pull the boards over, but still cracking the windows open a small bit to assist with air circulation and condensation. When we get up, open up the pop top, move heater location. As has been mentioned before, this is an MPV that has been converted, but think the insulation etc is pretty good, given its not meant to work as such when stationery. A wooly jumper is also a brilliant suggestion. HTH
  22. Interesting, we had our radio unit (Pioneer SPH -DA130DAB) unit fitted at conversion time. Am told that this is not compatible with the steering wheel controls, and have now lost use of them. Am going to try and sort locally, but anyone else had this issue, and CAN it be sorted ?
  23. Hi all, well we are now happy owners of our side conversion, pop top with the wider 120cm bed Alph. We chose Calder Campers in Livingstone, and whilst nowhere near 'local' for us, we liked the way they did things. We went for the side conversion, as this suited our needs, and also went for the wider R&R bed (wasn't aware this was available and was offered by Calder), which again suited our needs. We found our vehicle beginning of June - 05 3.0 V6 with low mileage and was spotless outside and inside. We chose our interior fit out, colour, style, seat covers etc on our 2nd visit, which they 'preferred' we went in person to do. Looking back, this was very much the best option, as we changed our minds about 4 times lol. Angela was brilliant in helping us choose the final options, and have to say got it right. It then took about 5 weeks to collection, and picked up end of August. I am now going to be a little critical of them when it came to collection....... I am fairly sure that before handover a proper PDI was not done, as the interior was 'grubby', the new front seats had stains on them, and the trim around the units had a couple of 'chips' in them. The curtains behind the passenger seat had holes in them (yes they were replaced immediately). The table leg literally came apart in my hand, as the screws barely pierced the table top (and were fixed with more substantial screws there and then) In our opinion, quite major in terms of handover, and if were honest just took the edge of it. The next major issue we encountered (but not till we got home), was the awning rail we paid to have added on. We were told it was 2.6l, but was only 1.7, no use nor ornament, so we had to return to Livingstone to have it fitted to the correct length, which CANNOT be 260. The max we got was 2.2, better, but when youve already bought an awning with a 2.6l.....does make it a bit harder. The rails themselves have to fit inside the pop top (which makes sense), and as the front of the vehicle slopes downwards, isn't able to take the rail. Yes, they sorted it (and compensated me for my petrol) but again, left a taste. In terms of the quality of the fit out though, we cannot fault them, it has been done very professionally, and the units are solid and look great. The re-cover of the seats/R&R bed is also excellent, and cannot fault it. From start to finish they have been helpful, gave great guidance on what we wanted/couldn't have, so no complaints there. Also we have a 3 year Guarantee on both the fit out, and the vehicle, so some peace of mind there. Would we recommend them, despite the issues mentioned - YES definately as the quality of the fit out is 1st class. HTH
  24. Ive only got one measurement which for the tyre size is 2.3 BAR (34 PSI) - this seems rather low given the add'l load factor for conversion ? Many thanks
