  1. Hi John, Most Alphies have two different types of rear sensors. Toyota call them Clearance Sonar and Back Sonar. Nether are connected to the camera system. I recommend you purchase the JPNZ Owners Manual which explains how to set up the Sonar sensitivities. The cameras and Sonar should all operate as they are not interlinked. The Lane Monitoring System is also totally separate and is a somewhat rare option. If you have it you will have mysterious black sensors on the bottom of your wing mirrors. I have never used mine ! Can you post a photo of the button? The Sonar controls are part of the head unit nacelle (not the head unit itself) lower lhs. Check they are not is not turned off, as they can be quite annoying when turned on. By the time the Japanese Lady admonishes you, you are already TOO CLOSE !
  2. Hello John, Welcome to the Forum. No, they are not. You can buy aftermarket items that work perfectly. I bought and fitted McGuard (?) units.
  3. Hi Louise, No, not directly; but I bought my Alphie from an affiliated JDM specialist dealer (on the same site). The dealer has them do all his mechanical work. They did the rear links on mine. I don't know for sure that they would undertake the work; but you could enquire.
  4. Hi Chris, While travelling in Spain we used the Spanish air conditioning system. Are you hoping to run the air conditioner whilst not in the vehicle, to pre cool the vehicle ? Or are you hoping to run an ac at night whilst you are in the vehicle ? Short of an EHU, you need a generator.
  5. Hi helen, Welcome to the Forum. Happy Camparding
  6. Thanks for taking the trouble to look. We can get the Owners Manuals. I have one. I also recommend them to all owners.
  7. Are you able to get the JPNZ Alphard Maintenance Manual in NZ ? We ae desperate to get our hands on some English versions in the UK
  8. I may know someone in Uxbridge.
  9. Hi Stewart, This topic is one of the most popular on this Forum. I suggest you search for Radio Replacement or similar There is no shortage of options. I'll let your thread run for a short while. If you only get a few responses, I'll relocate it
  10. Close at 133cm height at most, but would be more without luxury carpets, insulation, roof moulding, etc.
  11. 137cm is hopeful ! I'll measure mine later and update you. Overall vehicle height is only 193cm.
  12. Hello Duane, Welcome to the distant Forum. Checking my manual I cannot find a light as you describe. There is a symbol with a car, and what appears to be two exclamation marks which is for lane assist. Door open shows a car, but no exclamation. Can you post a photo ?
  13. Hello Simon, Welcome to the Forum. I have never seen an Alphie converted into an office. Based on my experience with my rear conversion it is, imho, entirely possible to create a fantastic office for one, two at a push. I have two bench seats and a small table, which would suffice as an office. For a more capacious office permanent, or semi-permanent, middle or rear seat removal is a real option. Some of the older vehicles have middle seating that can be rotated. Do you need to be able to stand ? You need to consider how to power any office 'equipment' though. You have set my mind buzzing
  14. No. The search box is to the Top Right Hand Side of your home page
  15. Have you tried searching this Forum ? The search box is on your home page. Trhs
  16. Hello Dominic, Welcome to the Forum
  17. While walking my dog yesterday I inspected the barrier more closely, and checked the height of the local beach car park entrance. In large lettering it was written 2 Meters, and in much smaller lettering 1.98m ! That would leave you only 1 cm ! Too close for me. Then, you notice all the damage to the barrier, and wonder how accurate the dimension remains. I recall the first time I took my Alphie through and peering very nervously through the moon roof.
  18. Happy Anniversary !
  19. NorthStar may be able to help. They are on the Isle.
  20. Hello Ian, Quite a task. There are universal plates available. I believe they are designed for (sorry, heresy) VWs. I have also heard they don't fit an Alphie. One of the conversion companies can do an installation, they do not supply the plates. I believe you have to lose the centre console to allow them to swivel. I am pretty sure I am thinking of NorthStar on the IOW. Their upgrade is not inexpensive. Unless you go with NorthStar, please consider the safety aspects carefully before attempting any DIY solution.
  21. Hello Chris, Welcome to the Forum. I don't have a pop top, but did consider one once. I decided against it on the basis of access to car parks. Where I live many car parks are height restricted to 2 metres. Many coastal car parks are the same. As an ex-Spanish resident, I don't recall there being any height restrictions in Spanish coastal areas. Food for thought
  22. Hello Peter, Welcome to the Forum. I doubt that light has anything to do the battery change.
  23. Hi John, Without a photo, I think it must be the auxiallry 110v outlet switch.
