Not too sure about the 10 series.
The 20 series alarm latch is incorporated in to the latch itself.
That looks aftermarket.
Do you have an alarm fitted? It was a dealer option

Not as simple as that, the Japanese maintenance manual is a cdrom, that had an offline html based manual.
It only runs properly on internet explorer 5.5/6, so you need a windows xp or that era, to run it.
The other option is to purchase a paper version, but they are expensive.
-
You mean a repair manual or a user guide?
-
If it's a reputable dealer, then yes. No hesitation.

Your key is too far away from the start button.
You can increase this range via the obd2 port using a Bluetooth app like carscanner or techstream.
-
Would help us to know what headunit you have.
As standard, the 2013 had a cd slot behind the screen.
You push the eject/open screen button to reveal it.
Should be obvious, unless you don't have an original headunit installed.

Is there any way to upload the file to a file-sharing site like Google Drive or Dropbox, then just post the link here?
In a previous post, you said you had 1st to 3rd gen manuals.
Are you asking how to share them?

Maybe it is just some safety lockout.
Parking brake on, Gear in park. Central locking unlocked.
Does the courtesy light work when the passenger door is opened?
Maybe it will not activate the swivel if it does not detect the door as open.
Check any switches around door and the frame that may be jammed.

The Toyota rear screen uses ntsc, and it's quite low resolution.
You may be better with an aftermarket rear screen.
What type of video out is there on the Kenwood?

Use nail of end of butter knife to move the little section on the left, over to the right.
Then you pull the battery holder out

Thanks - I had tried that and bailed out of it when it didn't look like it was going to work, but I just needed to be more patient. After several minutes it finds the correct protocol. No Coding & Service menu option though, so doesn't look like it offers anything more than Torque after all. Looks like Techstream may be the only option for things like switching off beeps.
The 10 series didn't have as many modules installed, I'm not even sure you can change anything like auto light delay, or door beeps.

I feel sure that Chris.ac has stated there are three types, one or each Gen.
I believe the Gen 1 type is unique to Gen 1 machines.
Check Chris's posts to be sure
Almost right.
Vellfire and Alphard seem to alternate between facelifts.
But the shape between the types is obvious when comparing before purchase

One connector is the media connection to the headunit, the other would have been to 110v power adaptors.
Although it would seem your model did not have the ac inverter fitted.

Thanks Chris waiting on a response from Amazon assistant as with some overseas purchasing we have to pay customs duties and VAT which I just found out when I bought a reel from Australia
Ah. I'm sure when i ordered, it took into account the taxes i needed to pay -at least in my case, with uk import taxes.

It's really hard without physically being there, but there are CANbus connections that are possible from the headunit, including sensing for speed, and parking brake/brake, which could create interference.
As well as started previously, a physical issue of jamming/disconnecting the gear selector
Sorry, you didn't say if the gear selection is displayed correctly on the dashboard when you change through the gearbox.

There is a hybrid app based on prius which may work.
Dr prius.

Prior to this, did you make any modification involving wiring, even if not seemingly related?
Does it have an aftermarket headunit fitted etc?
Does the dash show the change in selected gear?

That head unit is stuck in Japanese.
It's a JDM model number.
Some later 2014 versions had English, as well as the export models (hong kong, Malaysia)
That 3rd button with a G is a giveaway, as it means it is configured to connect to the Japanese data network, the export models do not have that button.
That said, it has Bluetooth media and Bluetooth calling, and you can add a carplay box, and a small mod to the touchscreen that allows you to use it use your phone to display satnav etc.

I'm not making a recommendation, as i don't have an older 10 series.
But you can buy relatively cheap headunit from AliExpress.
Eg.

Create a amazon.co.jp account, ( you can set it to English and £, then look for carmate inno roofrack parts for alphard h20 or terzo parts
You can buy regular square adaptors or aero design.
You can save money on shipping by only buying the foot pack and brackets, and buying the actual bars from the uk, Thule are compatible.

How much should it be for a 2003 2.4 Hybrid
I imagine the same.
It's an import, so will fall into the same tax bracket.
Although i don't open a hybrid, so i could be wrong
Without an officially published emissions cert, it will be closed as an import PLG
tax class 39

Have you managed to use the tv in the uk? I wonder if there's a way of replacing the japanese antennae to uk frequency or whether the actual headunit defines what frequency is picked up? any knowledge / experience greatly appreciated
Headunit frequency range is locked.
I imagine the actual antenna there can be replaced with euro spec versions, although it seems very often JDM and Euro parts have different standards of connector.
Has anyone seen this light before

There are 3 zones within the Alphard, i believe by default, the fib has to be within 100cm of the start button to work effectively.
You can expand this so that the key can be further away via the obd2 port using the right software.
