Has anyone used Jap auto agent??
used pauls services in the past and found him to be very helpful, his agent in japan (sam) seems very knowledgeable and gave good advice. I found I was highlighting cars that I was interested in and he basically refused to put in bids as he felt they simply weren't good enough. overall I was very happy with service

Drive away awning for Alphard
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lichfield-California-Drive-Away-Air-Awning/dp/B06Y17MD3Z/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2YC85GDCPRU7O&keywords=lichfield+california+drive-away+air+awning+-+excalibur%2C+low&qid=1556886055&s=gateway&sprefix=lichfield+calif%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1 this is what we use and it works a treat. Comes with awning straps so you can use it without having an awning rail fitted to the vehicle hope this helpsπ

Newbie seeking advice
don't know what the rates are where you live but as far as i'm concerned, probably the wisest Β£60 I've spent. As already stated, they don't salt their roads in Japan so undersealing is not deemed as important whereas our roads as heavily salted

3. Is it worth getting the vehicle 'waxoiled' underneath? I've heard Alphards are less prone to rust issues than Mazda Bongos, say. no brainer...β¦.. YES or at least undersealed can't help with the other 2 questions though soz

Speedo
personally I would go with replacement dials that display in MPH as opposed to KMH. OK so the odometer will still count in kilometres but at least you'll know how fast you're travelling which is, after all, what's important. got mine from https://www.lockwoodinternational.co.uk/ I read in forums that converter chips and the like, can affect the gearbox so I went for the safer, non invasive option

or you could even go down the route of importing one yourself and save yourself up to a couple of grand (but it is a bit of a faff) π΅

thanks for the reply's guys with regard to replacement dials and also a replacement header unit, just how big a job are they ? i'm absolutely useless at anything mechanical and will have to use the services of local garages to carry out the work and am always wary of being ripped off π€¨

hi guys, Name is Roger and I've recently taken delivery of 2007 Alphard 3.0 ltr MZ. Still waiting for paperwork to come back from HMRC so at the moment it's just sitting on the drive. Anyway, will be converting it to a rear camper for weekends on the Gower for my wife and myself so wanted to know if any members could recommend a drive away awning ? Also, with regard to the speedo conversion, do any of you chaps have recommendations for new dials for the car so it displays in MPH as opposed to KPH ? Cheers Roger
