  1. Did you know you can buy a manual in English? I'll have a look in mine later.
  2. If your vehicle isn't used a lot I'd still be suspicious of the E10 petrol, as in a standing vehicle it can corrode pipes.
  3. No, but there is a guy in Norfolk (Dereham) who does conversions for a living. He might be willing to advise. Andy's Imports. Andy's Imports (andysimports.co.uk) He's a very nice guy and also has a shop there.
  4. Yes ours was £200 odd from Aviva. Part of the trouble with Churchill is they won't accept that there's a 2.4 model. We were with them for one year and then they wouldn't reinsure. Prices I guess are more for the higher CC model?
  5. Davey Cox Motors, Necton, Norfolk. Great team, innovative too when it comes to sourcing (or even making) parts. Did a great job on our Alphard - highly recommended! 01760 721666
  6. Ours is 2007. We only had it a year - so not much help! We certainly wouldn't swap back to a 'normal' car
  7. Ah right, thank you, we'll get that looked at.
  8. Does anyone know what might be causing this? As you turn the wheel either way you get a sort of squeaking noise. We've asked for it to be checked at the service on 13th. Any ideas what it might be? Hydrolic fluid not low.
  9. Anyone fitted one to their Alphard please? Never had a dash cam before!
  10. Thanks very much, very helpful as always
  11. Yes the white grease is messy!
  12. It's a brilliant idea, but too far for us I'm afraid. Wish you ever success!
  13. Ah, that's very useful, thank you
  14. When we got our Alphard the agent said he's greased the tailgate and electric doors with white grease. That was six months or so ago, and he seemed to think it would need doing every 3 months. We let it slide and now the tailgate makes a groaning noise when it's half shut. It still works but we can't find anything in the manual on how to grease the struts. Anyone done this?
  15. Churchill were fine for a few months after changeover, then suddenly said they weren't renewing. It took a week to find out why. They said it's because the car is an import. Ours is a 2.4. They said they would insure a 3 litre because that was made and sold in the UK. No amount of arguing would convince them otherwise. Because of the advice on here we quickly got insurance with Aviva. Less than £300 Thanks guys!
  16. Brilliant! What synchronicity! I thought I had a different man! I must have registered something from what you said to find the right one. And you were right, he is totally genuine!
  17. An update, if anyone had the same HDD head as me, NHZN-W57 I have found the manual online (in Japanese) with the help of a Japanese friend. I have uploaded the Pdf file and had my WORD make it into a WORD document. From this is can be translated bit by bit by Google Translate or any app like that. We also discovered now that we have unlocked our unit that we do have rear view cameras! http://www.tph.co.jp/room/x8/avn/avn_manual/07model/NHZN-W57_Audio.pdf If anyone can't change this into a word document, let me know.
  18. I have PM'd you
  19. No, not quite NHZN-W57
  20. I will, thank you!
  21. Hi - we have the same unit as you, but we had a different problem in that it was locked - that being caused by the battery being disconnected at some point. It's taken us a couple of months to get it to work at all. So, in fact you probably know more than we do at this point, but hopefully if we share what we discover we'll get there. We know how to get the CD to play and have tuned the radio into Radio 2. Which is not as much as you know! Yesterday we put the car in reverse for the first time since 'waking it up' and discovered we have rear view cameras! The lady chattering away doesn't bother us as we tell people our Alphard can speak but I think it might become wearing in the end. We do have a manual for the radio, but it is in Japanese of course. Unlike the car handbook there are no translations available. I got an app on my phone that can read Japanese symbols, but it's only of limited use as whole sentences seem to turn into gibberish! I had a book translated by a Japanese publisher so today I'm going to contact them and see if they can put me in touch with the translator - even if we can get certain pages translated it will be a big help! I think your radio is an HDD Navigation System NHZN-W57 Keep in touch!
  22. Thank you - I paid Shareef $20 by paypal. I followed the video he sent us, which starts off like many others holding down (in our case, this varies) the MEDIA button while turning the side lights on and off, quickly 3 times. The radio flashes and the screen (finally) starts up! The next bit was a bit tricky following the video through several steps, and pausing now and then to to catch up, pressing this and that Japanese buttons, until a number appears in red at the top. You send this to Shareef and he immediately send you a code, which you enter and then miraculously all the buttons work
