Have the Blackvue twin camera. Faultless for 4 years and you can use it with its own WiFi to monitor the cameras from your phone while inside the home. Has internet remote viewing also and provides cloud uploads of any incident so it is safely away. Not the cheapest but quality of cameras and workings are v good, it's reliable.. Also works while the engines off if you want for overnight recordings from its motion sensors.. Will let you know if it's triggered via the app... Cheers..

Garage for imported Alphard near Coulsdon

Not close to you but I've had brilliant service at Toyotek in Lincoln. Gearbox oil change - they have the soft wear... -
Greetings in 2023. Just had to renew the insurance for the vellfire 2.4. Had been with Admiral without claim - premium went up from £255 to £495 😂😂. Told them to increase it to £695 as I've gotta "loads a money".🤥 Anyway called Adrian Flux and got it for £300 with + named driver. Spoke with a young lady called Levi, she was brilliant and had plenty of time to answer all my queries... She was exceptional.... Suggest you ask for her as nothing was too much trouble for her to get this best price. Cheers...

Wiring for caravan socket
Vellfire1 replied to starider's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
Took off my rear lights on the vellfire, removed the obvious screws and found that there is a hidden large plastic tab which sits to the front edge of the unit that required a slide in or out to fit or remove. I recall you can't simply pull it off, you have to nudge/slide it backwards, I found a firm push with the palm moved it free. Hope that helps somewhat... -
I have a Dometic drive away awning for sale if anyone's interested. Used if for 2 weeks in 2020, bought it new and it fits perfectly on my Vellfire.. Sleeps 4 if needed...

Hi. I imported a G wagon from Germany and obtained insurance on the chassis number prior to DVLA registration. If you search for grey import car insurance, a few specialists pop up. Drove it legally all the way from Bavaria to the UK. There's a company near Donington race track that will do all the registration paperwork for you if needed. Called " my car import" a trustworthy company....

CT I intend to keep the Vellfire, so bought the genuine parts from Toyota. The mileage is not the issue, it is mostly the age of the Vellfires that necessitate a change due to the rubber ageing. Mine was hitting 13 years and low mileage - i suspect that all Alphards and Vellfires will have the same age related issues with engine mounts. It's a very easy job and the improvement is remarkable. Even if the rubber mounts look not worn, they will most certainly have sagged over time and brought the metal components closer together resulting in a loss of smoothness in the drive. Remember, these vehicles are the Rolls Royce of the Toyota family, if they are not absolutely smooth, something somewhere needs addressing.

"Toyota For You" free Pre Winter Inspection
Vellfire1 replied to Rojie's topic in Toyota Alphard Servicing
I can fully endorse the willingness of the main Toyota dealers to go out of their way to find any service or other part for my Vellfire. In fact, most staff come out to take a keen look at it having never seen one.. In particular, Toyota Peterborough - parts manager Dave is very good. Toyota Nottingham also very helpful... -

Nice to hear - great find... -
Have just replaced the centre front and centre rear engine mounts. Very easy job once you have the vehicle raised securely. The centre rear is very accessible from underneath only once you remove 2 small splash guards underneath. 17mm deep and short sockets and each bolt/ nut can be seen and worked on easily. Support the engine near the mount and the mount will literally lift off - you can see and reach every part of the mount. 30 minute job. Same for the front centre mount, same process, remove the splash guard and you will see the bolts/ nuts. This one requires the deep 17mm socket and a standard 19mm socket. Best to use the 1/2" drives to loosen as they are very tight, no rust just tight.... Again 30 minutes. Local Toyota were happy to do the job, waiting time 8 weeks and quoted £685 all in.... I did use genuine parts at a total of £178... Smooth as silk as they should be...

I have fitted a discreet and all external diesel heater ( much safer than petrol )( also separate hidden diesel tank ) that works via remote control from up to 100m away. The ducting is connected to the original ducting, so you see nothing at all. It works wonderful on these cold mornings, you can also check the car cabin temperature from the remote, you then decide to switch it on or not all from the warmth of your house... Any interest on detail, pls pm me..

Hi, piece of information if your front sunroof ( the one that only lifts up 3/4".) Leaks slightly... Had this happen this morning, it was closed during a heavy down pour overnight and the roof lining was slightly damp towards the front part of the sunroof aperture. It took a couple of hours to find the best way to remove the glass sunroof and check the seals and ensure the drain holes were clear. I discovered that these vellfires/Alphard designers are literally at the top of their game. It would be easy to remove most of the front edge of the roof lining to find a way to remove the glass roof, remove the sunscreens, remove the interior lights and grab rails, it's not necessary ! The front edge of the roof lining that meets with the front edge of the sunroof has a velcro attachment ! Pull it gently and it will come away and reveal the 2 X 10mm nuts that holds the front edge of the glass sunroof in place. Remove these and you can lift the glass front edge up to reveal the 2 front drain holes. Mine had mister spider hiding in the left one, causing it to block and fill up, clear him out with a length of wire and put it all back. Job done, took me 3 hrs, but with the above, its a 30 minute job.....
