  1. I had a go but didn't have much luck, seemed to not connect very well.
  2. Hi Matt C, Just to let you know I’ve ordered the tensioner mentioned above. Hopefully it will fit! the part number is 16620-28021. £108 delivered. will let you know how it goes!
  3. Hi all, we’re in Letchworth Garden City in North Herts.
  4. So, I’ve still not gotten to the bottom of this noise. Bought a mechanic’s stethoscope to hopefully narrow the cause down. if it’s the belt tensioner, they are rather expensive and I can’t seem to find an aftermarket version. im wondering if one for the same engine in an Estima might be ok. Found one (from the UAE) which is a sensible price! https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/1662028020 Different part number, but looks like it might work. Tempted to have a gamble!
  5. PaulE and MPeter, I’d definitely recommend giving Mark at The Hybrid Repair Service a call. He comes out to you to remove the HV battery. https://www.hybridrepairservice.co.uk/ My 2006 hybrid had the same lights together with VSC. The problem was two cells in the battery had dipped in voltage. Mark removed the pack took it away and replaced the troublesome cells then balanced the battery pack. Was a cost effective way of reconditioning the existing pack, as the remaining cells were in pretty good condition. Another option would have been a brand new Toyota pack. Dr Prius also sells a lithium upgrade for the Alphard which is interesting!
  6. Thanks ArthurJ - good feedback 🙂
  7. My pleasure MPeters. PaulE (&MPeters) this (I think!) Was the website I downloaded the virtual box with techstream to get techstream working on a windows 10/11 laptop. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-techstream-in-5-minutes.1034923/ If I remember correctly, once the virtual system is running, there was a particular order to setup the driver for the cable, but pretty sure it tells you what to do! It was very useful to discuss the codes from techstream with the hybrid specialist who refurbished the hv battery. This was the company, Mark did a great job 🙂 https://www.hybridrepairservice.co.uk/contact
  8. Has anyone had any luck getting Dr Prius app talking to their Alphard hybrid via a Bluetooth OBD2 adaptor? Cant seem to make it work at all, but it might not work with Alphards. Works fine with my auris hybrid.
  9. I used an old copy of techstream and obd usb cable bought from eBay to bring up fault codes on my hybrid. Was a bit of a faf to install on my laptop. Had to use it with window xp in virtualbox! I was just about to make another post about Dr Prius app, and whether anyone has had any luck getting it to work.
  10. Hi, I ordered it from my local Toyota dealer in Letchworth. Think it's was about £75 from memory. It maybe the tensioner on mine too, not sure until I pull it apart.
  11. Hi I have a 2006 hybrid and there's an occasional squeeking coming from the drive belt area. I have a new genuine belt to swap over, but has anyone else experienced noises in this area? Is there a common fault that a bearing goes? Its done 75k miles. Also, to change the belt, does the front driver's wheel need to come off and wheel arch liner be removed? Many thanks Adam
  12. Hi Sunny, get in contact with Mark at the Hybrid Repair Service - he travels nationwide and came up to Herts from Exeter to refurbish my hybrids battery. It's also an ecocamper from campers Scotland 🙂
  13. I have used Mark at the Hybrid Repair Service recently to fully refurbish my 2006 10 series hybrid battery. I cannot recommend him enough! He gave a fabulous service. Came up and removed the battery, took it away and refurbished it, kept me in the loop as to what was going on, and refitted it. Super job!
  14. Hello Rojke, Many thanks 🙂
  15. Hi all, I've recently bought a 2006 Alphard hybrid. The previous owner had the inverter repaired after failing. Am I right in that the problem is due to overheating of the electronics? Has anyone added additional cooling to reduce the risk of the problem occuring again? Many thanks Adam
