These are just ideas, I’m not that an expert, but worth trying maybe. Try it with the aux cable unplugged. Perhaps it can only connect via one method at a time. You might have to unpair any phone that the previous owners had paired? Try it with audio switched on and off. Finally, when I press the audio button on mine (when audio is playing) a screen comes up displaying what I’m listening to. This screen displays tabs along the bottom (FM CD HDD AUX etc) if I press the aux one it goes to a vtr screen. On there is a button marked BT. Press BT button and it switches to Bluetooth mode. I get a square in the top left that says bt and a greyed out button saying connect (in Japanese). If there’s no phone connected maybe your “connect” will be able to be pressed.

There is a way, it’s in the manual. I’ll see if I can find it tomorrow if you like.

Have you checked with the gear knob in park and the parking brake applied too, some options seem to grey out when driving. When I paired mine I (by chance) paired the audio first and then the telephone side of things. I had to put a 4 digit code in to my phone to pair each time. There was a different code for audio and phone.

I’ll second that, you can get rid of most of the Japanese lady’s “conversation starters” though. When I gave someone a lift they asked me if the radio stations would be in Japanese!

I measured my switches to be 33x23mm approximately. I did notice some sold as Toyota switches are quite a bit taller.

This is the sort of thing you see with the Google translate app in camera mode. As you can see, it’s a lot easier now! The only thing you can’t do now is use the voice control button on the steering wheel.

No I don’t think you can. I’ve got the Car Scanner app and didn’t see an option to switch on a car alarm.

I downloaded the Google translate app. Set the language to Japanese to English, press the camera symbol and point it at the screen. You don’t have to take a photo each time, it just translates it on screen. On mine I had to pair my phone in audio settings to play music over Bluetooth and in telephone settings to make and receive calls.

Ok, so I guess it must be a standard box filled with fuses some of which may not be powering anything. I’ve got 4 wheel drive and sunroof fuses but don’t have either of those things. Hello all, Are there any extra sockets hidden away anywhere in these cars. I’ve noticed there are fuses for the AC inverter on the back of the centre console (AC INV) and the cigarette lighter (CIG) and also one labelled P/POINT. Is there an extra power point somewhere else? Thanks, Steve.

The display in the instrument cluster on mine can be scrolled (using “DISP” button on steering wheel) through outside temperature, instantaneous fuel consumption, average consumption, average consumption since refuelling and range remaining. The average consumption can be reset by long pressing the “DISP” button on the steering wheel.

Park up with wheels on full lock and look at the wear pattern on the tyre tread. Is there more wear on inside or outside of the tyre or even wear across whole width.

If a fuse blows immediately like that then there’s a chance there’s a short circuit occurred somewhere. You can check this with a multimeter. If you remove a fuse and test the voltage between the vehicle body somewhere convenient (this will be electrical ground) and each side of the fuse there should be 12 volts one one side and not the other. The 12v will be the supply side the dead side is the outgoing side. Set the multimeter to resistance and test between the outgoing side and vehicle body again, if the reading is very low you have a short circuit. Ask someone to operate switches relevant to the circuit while you test the resistance and open the boot up and down a few times too while you check resistance. I’ve seen wires have there insulation worn off through years of movement inside the rubber tubing where they feed into the door.

It’s Nissan’s version of an Alphard. They are pretty nice, but I think Toyota have the edge. They look cool though.

I got my Alphard from Worcester Road Motors after reading their positive reviews on Autotrader. They mostly do Elgrands but had a few Alphards there. Seem to give you plenty of time to look around without pestering you.

I wonder if it goes off if you turn the reversing sensors off. I haven’t tried that. Mind you, the sensors are handy.

Some of them don’t make sense for my car. Such as, I don’t have a sun roof but I can be warned if it’s left open. I guess it’s a standard list for the model. I don’t have door handle lights or doorknob lights, whatever they are.

On the setting screen make sure you have the correct connection profile too.
