  1. Ref sat nav on this topic. We bought a 2004 3L Alphie with the original Japanese 2 slot (2 DIN I think it is called?) radio in. A fairly standard DAB radiop from Halfords with a screen that supports bluetooth means it will support both Google Maps and the Apple equivalent displayed on the screen so you don't need to buy Sat Nav upgrades. It is also wired to show the reversing camera image on the same screen. I think the radio unit was about £350 and we got a mobile bloke to fit it. The 3L is a lovely drive even if it does like the drink a bit. As said elsewhere, it depends what mileage you are doing.
  2. Hi, I used magnetic strips to pin the awning to the roof. Mine were from the middle of LIDL and sold as tool magnets for hanging your tools on a garage wall. It is a bit awkward to twist round to attach them on top of the awning. However at, I think, £6 each it's worth a go. But you know what they say about the middle in LIDL.......... , but other places must sell similar items
  3. OK thanks Arthur, I'll see if this is what Autovan do. Did you do it yourself or get it done by an expert? Always long lead times to get these things done. I did see a solution on here using magnets to trap the awning to the roof, which I might try until I can get something similar to yours done.
  4. Hi Larry, thanks for responding. I am told Autovan in Wimborne, Dorset can attach some sort of fitting which gives you C connector you can slide the tent awning into. I think it is a permanent fixing once it is on though, and doesn't use the existing slot. I'll update once I have spoken to them. thanks Rick
  5. Hi, I have a 2004 3L Alphard with pop top. There is a covered slot down each side of the roof, which I assume can fit an awning attachment? What sort of attachment fits into those slots? It looks like it is a single slot filler the whole length of the roof - how does that work if my awning only has about a 5ft bead to attach? Many thanks Rick
