My digital workshop manual came today and I am trying to find a way of copying the files so that others can share it (it opens in its own windows xp os) but to no avail so far 🤔

Replace it with an Android roof unit with built-in USB and BT.

I have sent off for a owners workshop manual and wiring diagram on a USB stick but not due to arrive till end of January.

I would love to upgrade the room strip lights in the wife's vellfire but cant find anything on that subject.

Ordered the workshop manual with the wiring diagram on a USB stick so hopefully will remove the elongated roof monitor for an android unit.

That is pretty much what I had in mind for the (wife's, thought it was gonna be mine) Vellfire. The Android head unit already came fitted so a little bit in the dark about what and how stuff is connected to it, can be operated from the steering wheel, would like to add extras to it as we go along. Never thought the wife would go from her S class to the Vellfire, 😏

So I could get away with an android roof unit with built-in USB sockets and BT headphones and just need power and ground.

Will send for the USB manual just to make sure. 👍😎

Does the roof unit work independent of the android head unit and vice versa.

It was that having the S class I have an abundance of quality engine oil (albeit diesel) because I do all the maintenance on it myself and was trying to figure out if I could use in the Vellfire V6 hence the reason for the specs.

Wish I had taken my test on a bike when I had the chance so now only restricted to a chicken chaser or trikes (had 3). Dont expect much help from toyota MD's, as I went to one the other day and asked the dude what are the specs for the engine oil and he replied I cant tell you that, but I can sell you some... We use a mechanic who makes extra cash on the evening and weekends and if it dosent involve too heavy stuff then I do it myself, its just another car but without the workshop manual, you could find MOTORPARTS DIRECT very useful for parts, best to go in the shop as they dont list it all on the net and the quote me cheaper if I go in the shop! On the plus side, The wife (H&S officer) had a 08 Mercedes 3.0d V6 with the fully loaded, since we bought the 3.5 Vellfire she commutes to work in it every day and doesn't bother with the Merc at all.

There is one particular importer in Birmingham who sells them as if it were a one off thing (by-pass any obligations) yet keeps putting them up on FB and offers zero warranty or guarantee's but there are others who will offer a 3 year warranty...

Hi, I have the MKII Vellfire and was wondering about upgrading the 2 roof light strips to colour changing and a little brighter. Has anyone have any experience with these and what would be involved as far as power supply etc.

I did message JCB many months ago as to why they sourced the Hydrogen from abroad when it can be produced in this country thereby reducing the carbon footprint, never got an answer. My other question was why they didn't look at Hydrogen on demand with a small reserve start-up tank... never got an answer.

with an android head unit already fitted in the car I am at a loss as to what to do about the redundant roof monitor, its the wide screen type, is it suitable for anything at all? Would prefer to take it out and put something useful up there instead, any ideas, the car is all dark interior with lounge seats.

On the subject of which am I the only one who thinks the speedo needle is too chunky? When trying to keep to a specific like like 30 the needle almost completely obscures the number and its difficult to tell if the car is doing 28 or 32, sounds a bit trivial but do you know if there is a slimmer needle...

That one lacks the chrome strip along the edge.

Looking for a centre console (silver dash) in anticipation that the existing one is going to break when I remove it as it has already been assaulted previously. It is the '08-14 Vellfire. as long as the chrome trim edge is good it should be ok.

Thank you Chris, The car has only been in the country a few weeks and the head unit was replaced for an android unit, could be that the plug you mention was left unplugged by accident hence no illumination, will take the centre panel off the weekend and take some pics as well. As for that dashcam unfortunately it does not come on unless there is some magic swear word I need to utter 🤔
